PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF CHAMBERS STREET FROM ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH DALLAS DRIVE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH CLIFTON
STREET, PROVIDING NO PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF CHAMBERS
STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH DALLAS DRIVE TO ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH CLIFTON STREET, AND PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF
VEHICLES ON THE WEST SIDE OF CLIFTON STREET FROM ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH DALLAS DRIVE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH CHAMBERS
STREET, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT
TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
Section I of Ordinance No 82-82 ~s hereby amended to read
as follows
When s~gns are erected giving notice thereof, no person
shall park a vehicle at any time upon the following street
the City of Denton to-w~t
The south s~de of Chambers Street from ~ts lnter-
section w~th Dallas Drive to ~ts ~ntersectlon wlth
Clifton Street
The west s~de of Cllfton Street from ~ts ,nter-
sectlon with Dallas Drlve to its intersection w~th
Chambers Street
SECTION II
The provisions of Section I prohlb~t~ng the parking of
vehicles shall apply at all tlmes to the street and part of
streets designated there~n except when ~t ~s necessary to stop a
vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compl*ance
w~th the d~rectlon of a police offlcer or official traffic
control device
SECTION III
Any person adjudged guilty of parklng a vehicle in v~olat~on
of th~s ordinance shall be guilty of a m~sdemeanor and punished
by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION IV
That if any sectxon, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word ~n th~s ordlnance, or application thereof

to any person or circumstance is held lnvalld by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the
valldlty of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the
C~ty Councll of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares
would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such
~nval~d~ty
SECTION V
That th~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of lts passage, and the C~ty Secretary ~s
hereby d~rected to cause the caption of th~s ordinance to be
published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official
newspaper of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, wlthln ten (10) days of
the date of its passage
