AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THF PAPJ(ING OF VEHICLEg ON THE WEST
SIDE OF CLIFTON STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH DALLAS DRIVE
TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH CHAMBERS STREET, AND NO PARKING ON THE
NORTH SIDE OF CHAMBERS STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH DALLAS
DRIVE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH CLIFTON STREET, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO
HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN FFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HERFBY ORDAINS
SECTION I.
When signs are erected giving not,ce thereof, no person
shall park a vehicle at any time upon the follow%ng street tn
the City of Denton to-wit
The west side of Clifton Stre(~t from 1ts intersection
with Dallas Drive to its intersection with Chambers
Street, and no parking on the north side of Chambers
Street from its intersection w~th Dallas Dr~ve to its
intersection with Clifton Street
SECTION II
The provis~ons of Section I prohibiting the parking of
vehlcles shall apply at all times to the street and part of
streets designated therein except when it is necessary to stop a
vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or ~n compliance
with the direct~on of a police officer or official traffic
control device
SECTION III
Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle in v~olatlon
of this ordinance shall be guilty of a m~sdemeanor and punished
by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION IV
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereo~
to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such hold,hq shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the
City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it

would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such
invalidity
SECTION V
That th~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of its passage, and the C~tv Secretary is
hereby dlreoted to cause the caption of this ordinance to be
published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official
newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of
the date of ~ts passage
