1982-072AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
EOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER l, 1087, AND ENDING ON
SEPTEMBER 30, 1083, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHERBAS, notice of a public hearing on the budget for the C~tv
of Denton, Texas, for the fiscal year 1982-83 was heretofore
published at least f~fteen (IS) days ~n advance of sa~d public
hearing, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the sa~d budget was duly held on
the 7th day of September, 1982, and all ~nterested persons were
g~ven an opportunity to be heard for or against any ~tem thereof,
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
The Budget for the C~ty of Denton, Texas for the f~scal year
beginning on October 1, 1082 and end~n~ on September 30, 1083
prepared by the C~ty Manager and f~led w~th the C~tv Secretary, as
amended by the City Council is hereby approved and adopted
SECTION II
That the departmental appropriations for the C~ty of Denton,
Texas, for the f~scal year beginning October 1, 1087 and ending
September 30, 1983, from sa~d budget are hereby approved and
adopted

SECTION III
That the C~ty Manager ~s hereby authorized to tranfer the
amounts of money contained ~n the Reserve for Salary Ad3ustment
as contained ~n the 1982-83 budget to the various departments as
needed for the purpose of ~mplement~ng the proposed pay plan
approved by the C~ty Council for the General Fund employees
SECTION IV
That the C~ty Manager shall cause cop~es of the budget to be
f~led w~th the C~ty Secretary, the County Clerk of Denton County
and the State Comptroller of Public Accounts
SECTION V
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word ~n th~s ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or c~rcumstances ~s held ~nval~d by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of th~s ordinance, and the C~ty Council of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would have enacted such
remaining port~ons despite any such ~nval~d~ty
SECTION VI
That th~s ordinance shall be effective upon ~ts passage and
approval
