1982-062AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF UNDERWOOD ROAD, A PUBLIC STREET
SITUATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
BEGINNING AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH HIGHWAY 380 AND ENDING WITH ITS
INTERSECTION WITH SPRING SIDE ROAD, TO THE NAME OF MASCH BRANCH
ROAD AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Underwood Road, a public street situated in the
corporate limits of the City of Denton, Texas and intersecting
with Highway 380 and Spring Side Road, has been dedicated to the
public and continuously used as a public right of way for more
than twenty years, and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas, has the responsibility of
keeping and maintaining said street, and
WHEREAS, there exists another public street in the City of
Denton bearing the same name, and
WHEREAS, in the interests of public safety and convenience, it
is determined that the name of Underwood Road be changed, now,
therefore,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That Underwood Road, from its Intersection with Highway 380 to
Its intersection with Spring Side Road, be now and hereafter known
as Masch Branch Road and the name Underwood Road is hereby so
changed and designated
SECTION II
That the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Denton,
Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to let tha~ public street
herein named and described as Masch Branch Road be so designated
on the Official Map of the City of Denton, Texas
SECTION III
This ordinance shall become effective from and after its date
of passage and approval 3/~d ~ ~
