CALLED TO ORDER: Called to order by President Bonnie McCormick at 5:30.
PUBLIC FORUM: No members of public present
APPROVE MINUTES
The January 9, 2017, meeting minutes were approved.Jean Greenlaw made the motion to approve;
Barbara Halbert seconded.
LIBRARY REPORT: Terri Gibbs
• Seed library begins March 1 at Emily Fowler Library. Press release going out next week.
• All branches will be closed Friday, February 24 for all-staff training day.South Branch will be closed
Thursday, February 23 and open late on Saturday, February 25 for replacement of three HVAC
units on the roof.
• Presentation: Annual Report for 2015/16 and 2020 Strategic Plan
o Presented to city council last week;asked new city manager for support of budget request
for materials.
o Strategic Plan required by Texas State Library
FOUNDATION REPORT: Terri Gibbs
• Current balance is$15,651.61. No change since last month.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY: Barbara Halbert
• Met on January 12.Terri had previously requested funding for 2017. Submitted amended
amount$20,994.00 which was approved.
• Water damage to storage room has been repaired. Working on replenishing stock due to books
that were ruined and thrown away.
• Looking at ways to improve membership numbers. May link membership drive to summer
reading program.
