1982-026AN ORDINANCE RESTRICTING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES AT ANY TIME ON
THE EAST SIDE OF BRADLEY STREET FROM THE INTERSECTION OF OAK
STREET TO THE INTERSECTION OF SCRIPTURE STREET, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO
HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
When signs are erected glvlng notice thereof, no person
shall park a vehicle at any time upon the followIng street ~n
the City of Denton to-w~t
The east s~de of Bradley Street from ~ts lnter-
section w~th Oak Street to ~ts ~ntersect~on w~th
Scripture Street
SECTION II
The provlslons of Section I providing the parking of
vehicles shall apply at all t~mes to the street and part of
streets designated therein except when it ~s necessary to stop a
vehicle to avoid conflict w~th other trafflc or ~n compliance
with the d~rect~on of a police officer or official traffic-
control device
SECTION III
Any person adjudged gullty of parking a vehicle in v~olat~on
of th~s ordinance shall be guilty of a m~sdemeanor and punished
by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION IV
That ~f any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word ~n th~s ordinance or applIcation thereof
to an person or circumstances ~s held ~nvalld by court of
competent ]urlsdlctlon, such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of th~s ordinance, and the
City Councll of the Clty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it
would have enacted such remalning portions despite any such
lnval~dlty All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION V
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary ~s
hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be
published twice ~n the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official
newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of
the date of ~ts passage
