1982-019AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE ~ARKING OF VEHICLES ON TEE NORTH
SIDE OF ~CKINNEY ~TREET FRO~ THE ~NTERSECT~ON OF BELL AVENUE TO
THE INTERSECTION OF JANNIE STREET, PROVIDING A ~EVERABILITY
CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS,
AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
When signs are erected qlvlng notice thereof, no person
shall park a vehicle at anytime upon the following street in the
City of Denton to-wit
The north side of McKlnney Street from its inter-
section with Bell Avenue to its intersection with
Jannle Street
SECTION II
The provisions of Section I providing the parking of
vehicles shall apply at all t~mes to the street and part of
streets designated therein except when it is necessary to stop a
vehicle to avoid conflict w~th other traffic or in compliance
with the direction of a police officer or official traffic-
control device
SECTION III
Any person adjudged guilty of parklnq a vehicle ~n vlolatlon
of thls ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished
by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION IV
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word in this ordinance or application thereof
to an person or circumstances is held invalid by court of
competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the
City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it
would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such
invalidity All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION V
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretarv l~
hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be
published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official
newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of
the date of Its passage
