AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THAT PORTION
OF THE SOUTH SIDE OF SCRIPTURE ST~ET PROM THE SOUTH~STERLY
CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF SAID STREET WITH FRY STRFET TO A
POINT APPROXI~TELY NINETY FEET ~ST ON SCRIPTURE ST~ET IN THE
CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HE'WITH, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS,
AND DEC.RING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall
park a vehicle at any time upon that certain portion of th~
following public street in the City of Denton, to-wit
The south side of Scripture Street from the southwest
corner of said street's Intersection with Fry Street to a
point approximately ninety (90') feet west on Scripture
Street
SECTION II
The provisions of Section I prohibiting the parking of
vehicles shall apply at all times to the street and Darts of
street designated therein except when it is necessary to stop a
vehicle to avoid conflict w~th other traffic or in compliance w~th
the d~rect~on of a police officer or official traffic-control
device
SECTION III
A person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle ~n violation of
this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a
fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION IV
Any and all ordinances ~n conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION V
Th~s ordlnance shall become effective fourteen (14) davs from
the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed
to cause the caption of this ordlnance to be published twice in
the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of the City of
Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage and
