AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE WEST
SIDE OF MESA DRIVE FROM THE INTERSECTION OF UNIVERSITY DRIVE
AND MESA DRIVE TO THE ENTRANCE OF WESTGATE HOSPITAL IN THE CITY
OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAIJSE, PROVIDING A
PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN
EEFECTIV~ DATE
THE COUNCIL OE THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
When signs are erected g~vlng notice thereof, no person
shall park a vehicle at anytime upon the fo]lowing street in
the City of Denton to-wit
The west side of Mesa Drive from the intersection of
University Drive and Mesa Drive to the entrance of
Westgate Hospital
SECTION II
The provisions of Section I providing the parking of
vehicles shall apply at all times to the street and part of
streets designated therein except when It is necessary to stop
a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance
with the d~rectlon of a police officer or official
traffic-control device
SECTION III
A person ad3udged guilty of parking a vehicle in violation
of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished
by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars
SECTION IV
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application
thereof to any person or c~rcumstances is held invalid by any
court of competent 3urlsdlctlon, such holding shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and
the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares
it would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such
lnvahdlty All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION V
That th~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of ~ts passage, and the C~ty Secretary ~s
hereby dxrected to cause the captxon of tb~s ordxnance to be
published twxce xn the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official
newspaper of the C~ty of Denton, Texas w~th~n ten ~10) days of
the date of ~ts passage
