AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT
TO THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BHING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR
PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 440 ACRES OF LAND
LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE COHNTY OF DENTON, STATE OF
TEXAS AND BEING IN THF M E P ~ P R R COMPANY SURVFY, ABSTRACT
NO 927 AND THE GIDEON WALKER SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO 1~0, DPNTON
COUNTY, TEXAS, CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS AGRICUL~IRAL "A"
DISTRICT PROPBRTY, AND DECLARING AN BFFPCTIVF DATE
WHEREAS, the request for annexation was ~ntroduced at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the C~ty of Denton,
Texas, on the petition of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, and
~HERBAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a public hearing
held for that purpose on August 1l, lqS1 for all ~nterested
persons to state their wews and present ewdence bearing upon
the annexation prowded by this ordinance, and
WHEREAS, th~s ordinance has been published ~n full at least
one t~me ~n the official newspaper of the C~ty of Denton,
Texas, prior to ~ts effective date, and after the public
hearings,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the hereinafter described tract of land be, and the
same ~s hereby annexed to the City of Denton, Texas, and the
same ~s made hereby a part of sa~d C~ty and the ]and and the
present and future ~nhab~tants thereof shall be entitled to ali
the r~ghts and pr~wleges of other c~t~zens of sa~d C~ty and
shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said C~tv now in
effect or which may hereafter be enacted and the property
situated there~n shall be subject to and shall bear ~ts prorata
part of the taxes lewed by the C~ty The tract of land hereby
annexed ~s described as follows, to-w~t
Ail that certain lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being
s~tuated ~n the C~ty and County of Denton, State of Texas, and
being part of the M E P and P R R Company Survey, Abstract
No 927 and the G~deon Walker Survey, Abstract No ~0 and
more particularly described as follows
Beginning at a point on the present C~ty limits line, as
established by Ord No 70-49, said point of beginning beln?
1240 0 feet west of the southeast corner and on the south
boundary l~ne of the M E P ~ P R R Co Survey, Abstract no
927, and on the north r~ght-of-way l~ne of Spencer Road,

SECTION II
The above described property ~s hereby classified as
Agricultural "A" D~str~ct and shall so appear on the official
zoning map of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, which map ~s hereby
amended accordingly
SECTION III
Th~s ordinance shall be effective ~mmed~ately upon ~ts
passage
