1981-069AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2~-21 (C)(9) OF CHAPTER 25,
UTILITIES, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON,
TEXAS, PERTAINING TO PRIMARY SERVICE (TRANSFORMATION EQUIPMENT
OWNED BY THE USER), AMENDING SECTION 25-21 (C)(10) OF SAID
CHAPTER PROVIDING FOR SECONDARY SERVICE - PRIMARY METERED
(TRANSFORMATION EQUIPMENT OWNED BY THE CITY), AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
Section 2S-21 (C)(9) Prxmary Serwce (Transformation Equip-
ment owned by the User) of Chapter 25 of the Code of Ordinances
of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, ~s hereby amended so that the
same shall hereafter read as follows
"(9) Primary Serwce (Transformation Equipment Owned
by the User)
Primary Serwce w~ll, upon request, be made
available to users w~th a twelve (12) month
average monthly demand of ?S0 kW or greater
Primary Serwce w~ll be rendered at one point on
the user's premises at a nominal voltage o£
1~,200 volts or 69,000 volts three-phase, at the
option of the utility
When the Primary Service ~s suppl~ed, the user
shall own, operate and maintain all facilities
necessary to receive Primary Serwce and all
transformation facilities required for conversion
to utilization voltage The utility shall own,
operate and maintain all metering facilities,
e~ther at primary or secondary voltage, at the
ut~l~ty's option Where the C~ty elects to meter
at secondary voltage, two percent (2%) shall be
added to the Demand Charge, Energy Charge, and
Energy Cost Adjustment Charge to account for
transformer losses"
S~CTION II
Section 2S-21 (C)(10) of Chapter 2S, of the Code of
Ordinances of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, ~s hereby amended so
that the present subsection (C)(10) shall hereafter be
renumbered as subsection (C)(ll) and ~nsert~ng a new subsection
(C)(10) so that the same shall read as follows
"(10) Secondary Serwce Prxmary Metered (Transfor-
mation Equipment Owned by the Cxty)
Where the utxl~ty elects to apply ~ts metering
facilities on the hxgh voltage sxde of Cxty
owned and malntaxned transformatxon eqmpment,
the user shall be b~lled at the Schedule C
Secondary Serwce Rate and allowed a two
percent reductxon ~n the Demand Charge, Energy
Charge and Energy Cost Adjustment Charge to
account for transformer losses
(11) Special Facilities
All serwces which reqmre special facilities ~n
order to meet the customer's service
reqmrements shall be provided subject to
special facilities rider"
SECTION III
Th~s ordinance shall become effective from and after ~ts
date of passage and approval
