1981-045 NO #8~-45 AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DELCARING THE RESULTS OF THE R~GULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF DENTON ON APRIL 4, 1981 THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I The City Council finds and declares that the April 4, 1981 regular municipal election was duly ordered for the purpose of electing Councllpersons to Place 1, 2, 7, and 4 on the Council, that proper notice of sa~d elect~on was duly g~ven and elect~on official appointed, that said elect~on was duly held and the returns of the elect~on officials have been delivered to the Council, all ~n accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and ordinances of the C~ty of Denton S~CTION II The official returns of the elect~on officials hawng been opened, examined and canvassed, the Council hereby f~nds and declares that 3,220 votes were cast at sa~d elect~on, and that the votes cast for each place on the Council were as follows FOR CITY COUNCIL PLACE 1 Robert L Pearce 88 votes Dawd L~ssberger 37 votes ~ark Chew 470 votes FOR CITY COUNCIL PLACE 2 Joe Alford 798 votes Rande Caldwell 182 votes Bill Nash 703 votes FOR CITY COUNCIL PLACE ~ Lee Ke~th 189 votes Cindy Nohat 40 votes Elizabeth Snapp lgS votes J~m R~ddlesperger 394 votes FOR CITY COUNCIL PLACE 4 L T Hensley 148 votes B~ll~e Hubbard 68 votes Ray Stephens 388 votes SBCTION III The Council finds and declares that each candidate listed below received a majority of the votes cast for each place on the Council and that each candidate listed below is hereby declared to be elected to the City Council of the C~ty of Denton PLACB NO 1 Mark Chew PLACB NO 2 Joe Alford PLACB NO 3 Jim Rlddlesperger PLACM NO 4 Ray Stephens and such candidates shall assume the duties of their off~ce on the date that they take the official oath of off~ce PASSMD AND APPROVBD th~s the 7th day of Apr~/1, 1981 / R~CH~ O- STMmT~ MAYOR CITY OF DMN~N, T~XAS ATTBST CITY OF DBNTON, TBXAS APPROVBD AS TO LBGAL FORM C J TAYLOR, JR , CITY ATTORNBY CITY OF DBNTON, TBXAS / vI
