CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, ON APRIL 4, 1981, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ELECTING FOUR COUNCILPERSONS TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DENTON, TEXAS FOR PLACES 1, 2, $ AND 4, PROVIDING FOR VOTING
PLACES AND ELECTION OFFICIALS, AND ORDERING THAT THE PUNCH CARD
ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEM ADOPTED BY DENTON COUNTY BE USED IN
SAID ELECTION
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
Pursuant to the terms and provisions of Section 3 01 of the
Charter of the City of Denton, Texas, the regular municipal
elect~on is hereby ordered held in the C~ty of Denton, Texas on
the 4th day of April, 1981, for the purpose of electing four
councllpersons to the C~ty Council of the C~ty of Denton, Texas,
as follows
Place No 1 - Counc~lperson to be elected for a two
(2) year term by the qualified voters of
Single Member D~strlCt No 1 of the City
of Denton, Texas Candidates for Place
No 1 must reside ~n Single Member
D~strlct No 1
Place No 2 - Councxlperson to be elected for a two
(2) year term by the qualified voters of
S~ngle Member D~str~ct No 2 of the C~ty
of Denton, Texas Candidates for Place
No 2 must reside in Single Member
D~str~ct No 2
Place No 5 - Counc~lperson to be elected for a two
(2) year term by the qualified voters of
S~ngle Member D~strxct No 5 of the City
of Denton, Texas Candidates for Place
No 5 must reside ~n S~ngle Member

Place No 4 Counc~lperson to be elected for a two
(2) year term by the qualified voters of

The polls for said elect~on on April 4, 1981 shall be open
from 7 00 A M to 7 00 P M , and the elect~on voting places or
polling places shall be as follows

SECTION III
The election officials for sa~d elect~on on April 4, 1981
shall be as follows
1 (a) Lee Knox shall be the Pres~dlng Judge at the Central
Counting Station
(b) Joann Garbac~k shall be the Manager of the Central
Counting Station
(c) Marllyn Robinson shall be the Tabulation Superwsor
at the Central Counting Station
2 Joe Luker shall be the Presiding Judge at the American
Legion Hall ~n S~ngle Member D~str~ct No 1
V W Mart~n, Jr shall be the Presiding Judge at the
Trinity Presbyterian Church ~n S~ngle Member D~str~ct No
2
4 Lee Knox shall be the Presiding Judge at the North Lakes
Recreation Center in S~ngle Member D~str~ct No 3
S Bob M~ller shall be the Presiding Judge at Den~a Park
Recreation Center ~n S~ngle Member D~str~ct No 4
6 Brooks Holt, City Secretary shall conduct absentee voting
under the Texas Elect~on Code
The respective Presiding Judge of each voting Place and the
Central Counting Station shall be authorized to appoint a

suffxcxent number of Clerks as they may deem necessary to assist
them xn saxd electxon, lncludxng b~l~ngual assistants as
required by law
SECTION IV
Absentee votxng shall be conducted by the Offxce of the City
Secretary ~n the Munxcxpal Buxldxng on East McKxnney Street ~n
the City of Denton, Texas, and the polls for absentee voting
shall be open for voting xn person between the hours of 8 00
A M and $ 00 P M Monday through Friday durxng the txmes
allowed for absentee votxng
SECTION V
The Cxty Secretary xs hereby authorized to prepare the
off~cxal ballot for saxd electxon and perform each and every act
required by the Charter and laws of the State of Texas for
holdxng electxons
SECTION VI
It xs further ordered that the punch card electronic votxng
system adopted by Denton County be used ~n saxd electxon ~n
accordance wxth the terms and prowsxons of Artxcle 7 15 of the
