AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO
THE CITy OF DENTON, TEXAS~ BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR PARCEL OF
LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 10 6 ACRES OF LAND LYING AND BE-
ING SITUATED IN THE COUNTY OF DENTON, STATE OF TEXAS AND BEING IN
THE D D. CULP SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO 287, DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS,
CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS SINGLE-FAMILY~F-7" DISTRICT PROPERTY, AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the request for annexation was introduced at a re-
gular meeting of the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas,
on the petition of First Texas Savings Association, and
WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a public hearing
held for that purpose on November 7, 1978 for all interested per-
sons to state their views and present evidence bearing upon the
annexation provided by this ordinance, and
WHEREAS, this ordinance has been published in full at least
one time in the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas,
prior to its effective date, and after the public hearings,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
HEREBY ORDAINS.
SECTION I
That the hereinafter described tract of land be, and the same
is hereby annexed to the City of Denton, Texas, and the same is
made hereby a part of said City and the land and the present and
future inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the r~ghts
and privileges of other citizens of said City and shall be bound
by the acts and ordinances of said City now in effect or which may
hereafter be enacted and the property situated therein shall be
subject to and shall bear its pro-rata part of the taxes lev~ed
by the City The tract of land hereby annexed is described as
follows, to-wit.
Ail that certain lot, tract or parcel of land situated in the D D
Culp Survey, Abstract No 287, City and County of Denton, Texas,
being p~rt of that tract described in deed from Jane Houston Sewell
to Kingston Tract Joint Venture as recorded in Volume 656, Page 645
of the Denton County Deed Records, sa~d tract being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows
BEGINNING at a 2 inch iron pipe for the southeast corner of this
tract a~d the Kingston Trace Joint Venture Tract,
THENCE ~%orth 87° 30' west 620 feet, more or less, with the south
lane of the K~ngston Trace Joant Venture Tract to the southeast
corner of that tract descrabed an City of Denton Annexation Ordin-
ance 73-3,
THENCE north 00° 08' east 970 feet, more or less. w~th c~ty l~m~ts
line to a point ~n the centerl~ne of K~ngs Row;
THENCE south 87° 26' east 155 feet, more or less, with sa~d center
lane to a point,
THENCE ~n a southerly d~rect~on 50 feet, more or less, to a point
in the south rlght of way l~ne of proposed Loop 288,
THENCE an a southeasterly d~rect~on with a curve to the r~ght ~n
sa~d proposed south right of way line a chord d~stance of 245 feet,
more or less, to a point of tangency of sa~d curve,
THENCE southeasterly 418 feet, more or less, to a point an the west
l~ne of sa~d K~ngston Tract Joint Venture Tract,
THENCE south i1° 34' west 565 feet, more or less, w~th sald west
l~ne to the place of beginning, contalnlng approximately 10 6 acres
of land, more or less
SECTION II
The above descrabed property is hereby classified as S~ngle-
Family "SF-7" D~str~ct and shall so appear on the offlcaal zoning
map of the C~ty of Denton, which map ls hereby amended accordingly
SECTION III
Th~s ordinance shall be effective ~mmed~ately upon ~ts passage
