AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TRXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO 79-69 CORRECTING THE METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION OF LAND
DISANNEXED ON SEPTRMBER 4, 1979 AS A PART OF THE CITY OF
DENTON, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it was proposed to the City Council of the City of
Denton, Texas, that it was desirable and to the best interest of
the City of Denton, Texas, that the property described in
Ordinance No 79-69 be dlsannexed as a part of said City, and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton passed said ordinance on the 4th
day of September, 1979 which was effective immediately, and
WHEREAS, it appeared that the ma3orlty of the owners of the
land more particularly described below were desirous of being
dlsannexed from the City of Denton, Texas, and
WHERRAS, it is necessary to amend said ordinance in order to
correct the metes and bounds description of the land dlsannexed,
said corrected metes and bounds description to read as follows
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land, lying and being
situated in the City and County of Denton, State of Texas, and
being part of the James Severe Survey, Abstract No 1164, and
being part of a tract of land as conveyed by Henry S Miller
Company, Trustee to Genella Elizabeth King by deed dated December
2, 1975, and recorded in volume 766, Page 682 of the Deed Records
of Denton County, Texas, and being more particularly described as
follows
BEGINNING at the northeast corner of said King tract, said point
of beginning lying in the north boundary line of said Severe
Survey at its intersection with the west boundary line of the
Texas and Pacific Railroad right of way,
THENCE s~uthwesterly alon~ a curve to the left, whose chord bears
south 29 40' 14" west a distance of 4S0 0 feet to a point,
THENCE south 26o 17' west along the east boundary line of said
King tract, same being the west boundary line of said Railroad
right of way a distance of 650 0 feet to a point,
THENCE south 27° 24' west along the east boundary line of said
King tract same being the west boundary line of said Railroad
right of way a distance of SO0 0 feet to a point,
THENCE south 28° 02' west along the east boundary line of said
Kln~ Tract same being the west right of way line of said Railroad
right of way a distance of 2,782 62 feet to a point for a corner
same being the south corner of said King tract,
THENCE north 0° 32' 50" west along the west boundary line of
said King tract a distance of 710 84 feet to a point for a corner
in the existing city limits line,
THENCE north 28o 02' east along the existing city limits line a
distance of 2,1S6 SO feet to a point,
THENCE north 27° 24' east along the existing city limits line a
distance of 494 81 feet to a point,
THENCE north 26° 17' east along the existing city limits line a
distance of 646 69 feet to the beginning of a curve to the right
whose chord bears north 28° 08' 38" east and whose chord length
is 269 27 feet,
THENCE northeasterly along said curve to the right, same being the
existing city l~mlts l~ne, a dlstnace of 269 26 feet to a point
for a corner ~n the north boundary line of said King tract,
THENCE north 89° 34' 11" east along the north boundary l~ne of
sa~d K~ng tract a d~stance of 400 60 feet to the place of
beginning an containing 31 023 acres of land, more or less
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
(1) That the matters and facts recited herein in the preamble
of th~s ordinance are hereby found and determined to be true and
correct
{2) That, pursuant to Articles 970a and 1175(2), Vernon's
Texas C~wl Statutes, the above described property is hereby
d~scontlnued as a part of the C~ty of Denton, Texas
{3) That the City Secretary is hereby authorized and d~rected
to enter this Ordinance on the m~nutes and records of the C~ty of
Denton, Texas, to the effect that sa~d property is d~sannexed as a
part of the City of Denton, Texas, and after the entry of th~s
ordinance the sa~d property shall cease to be a part of the City
of Denton, Texas
SECTION II
That this ordinance shall become effective immediately after
its passage and approval
