1979-027AN ORDINANCE REMOVING PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF EDWARDS STREET
FROM AVENUE D TO AVENUE ~, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PRO-
VIDING A PENALTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the sou~th side of Edwards Street from Avenue D to Avenue
E shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or ~n any manner
obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so posted by the
proper authorities of the City of Denton, Texas
SECTION II
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or circumstances ~s held ~nval~d by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of th~s ordinance, and the City Council of the
City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would have enacted such
remazn~ng portions despite any such ~nvalzd~ty
SECTION III
That Section 1-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the C~ty of
Denton is incorporated ~nto the ordinance as ~f set out ~n full
here~n, and the penalty by f~ne not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars
· s applicable hereto, and ~t is hereby declared unlawful to park
any vehicle on any port~on of the above described streets as ~s
posted or marked as a "No Parking Zone"
SECTION IV
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen days from
the date of its passage, and the C~ty Secretary ~s hereby d~rected
to cause the caption of thzs ordinance to be published twice ~n the
Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of the C~ty of
Denton, Texas, w~thin ten (10) days of the date of its passage
