AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON,
TEXAS, BY AMENDING SECTION 17-11 i BY PROVIDING AN EXCEPTION TO THE
DENTON PLUMBING CODE FOR TEMPORARY GAS SERVICE, AND AMENDING SECTION
17-22 OF THE DENTON PLUMBING CODE BY PROVIDING A FEE FOR THE TEMPO-
RARY GAS SERVICE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
PART I
(A) That Section 17-11 1 "Amendments to Plumbing Code" of
Chapter 17 "Denton Plumbing Code" is hereby amended to add a new
Section (13) which will hereafter read as follows
(13) Article V, Chapter 12, Section 1210 "Temporary Use o£
Gas"
Where temporary use of gas is desired and the AdministratIve
Authority deems the use necessary, a permit may be ~ssued for such
use for a per~od of not to exceed s~xty (60) days, provided that
such gas p~p~ng system otherwise conforms to the requirements of
this code regarding mater~al, sizing and safety"
(B) That Section 17-22 "Fees (Cost of Permit)" of Chapter 17
"Denton Plumbing Code" is hereby amended by adding the £ollowlng
~tem to PLUMBING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
"Temporary Gas Service $10 00"

That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word ~n th~s ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or c~rcumstances lq held ~nval~d by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and the C~ty Council of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted such
remaining portions despite any such ~nval~dit¥
PART III
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen days from
the date of ~ts passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed
to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twice ~n the
Denton Record-Chronicle, the o£flcial newspaper of the City of
Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage
