1978-075AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETERMINING THE GENERAL SERVICE RATE TO BE
CHARGED FOR SALES OF NATURAL GAS TO RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL CON-
SUMERS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF DENTON, DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS, AND
PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER IN WHICH SUCH RATE MAY BE CHANGED, ADJUSTED
AND AMENDED, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR A
SCHEDULE OF SERVICE CHARGES.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
Effective with the first gas bills rendered from and after
thirty (30) days from the date of final approval of this ordinance,
the maximum general service rate for sales of natural gas rendered
to residential and commerclal consumers w~thln the C~ty L~mlts of
Denton by Lone Star Gas Company, a Dlv~slon of Enserch Corporation,
a Texas Corporation, ~ts successors and assigns is hereby f~xed and
determined as follows
F~rst 1,000 cuft at $4 00 per MCF
Over 1,000 cuft at $2 5484 per MCF
Monthly m~nlmum bill is $4 00 or, ~f the service per~od ~s less than
28 days, the monthly minimum b~ll ~s $ 1429 t~mes the number of days
service Bills are due and payable when rendered and must be paid
w~thln flfteen (15) days from monthly b~ll~ng date
SECTION II
The residential and cou~erc~al rates set forth above shall be
adjusted upward or downward from a base of $1 7636 per MCF by a Gas
Cost Ad3ustment Factor expressed as an amount per thousand cubic feet
(MCF) of natural gas for changes ~n the ~ntracompany c~ty gate rate
charge as authorized by the Railroad Commission of Texas or other
regulatory body having ]urlsdlct~on for gas delivered to the Denton
d~str~butlon system, according to Item A, in the Attachment hereto
which ~s incorporated hereln.
SECTION III
Company shall also receive tax ad3ustments according to Item B,
~n the Attachment hereto which ~s incorporated here~n
SECTION IV.
In addition to the aforesaid rates, Company shall have the r~ght
to collect such reasonable charges as are necessary to conduct 1ts
bus.ness and to carry out ~ts reasonable rules and regulations in
effect, as set forth in Item C, an Attachment hereto which is ancor-
porated herean.
SECTION V
The above rate as applacable to each resadentlal and commercial
consumer per meter per month or for any part of a month for which gas
as used at the same looataon
Any addataonal charges not enumerated above, may be anatlated by
the Company only if prior approval by the City Council is gaven and
an order as flied to that effect
Addltaonally, the rules and regulations of the Company shall be

SECTION VI
The rates set forth in Section I may be changed and amended by
either the City or Company furnashlng gas an the manner provided by
law Service hereunder is subject to the orders of regulatory bodaes
havang jurisdiction, and to the Company's Rules and Regulatlons, and
to the Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas
SECTION VII
All ordinances heretofore passed by the City of Denton, estab-
lashang rates and charges for sale of natural gas to resldentlal and
commercial consumers are hereby repealed effective with the estab-
lishment of the rates authorized in Sectaon I above
SECTION VIII
Nothing in thls ordanance contained shall be construed now or
hereafter as limited or modifying an any manner the r~ght and power
of the Clty under the law to regulate the rates and charges of Lone
Star Gas Company
SECTION IX
It is hereby offacaally found and determaned that the meeting
at whach this ordanance is passed is open to the public as required
by law and that publac notice of the t~me, place and purpose of sa~d
meeting was gaven as required by Article 6252-17, Vernon's Annotated
Clvll Statutes

LONE STAR GAS COMPANY
TARIFFS & SCHEDULES
ITEM A GAS COST ADJUSTMENT
Each monthly bill at the above rate shall be adjusted for gas
cost as follows
(1) The city gate rate 1ncrease or decrease applicable to cur-
rent blll~ng month resldentlal and commercIal sales shall
be estimated to the nearest $0 0001 per Mcf based upon
(a) A volume factor of 1 05307 determined for the d~s-
trlbutlon system as the ratio of Mcf purchased
dlv~ded by the Mcf sold for the 12 month period
ended June 30, 1977
(b) The c~ty gate rate estlmated to be applicable to
volumes purchased during the current calendar month,
expressed to the nearest $0 0001 per Mcf, and cal-
culated pursuant to the Order in Gas UtilitIes Docket
No 683 of the Railroad Commission of Texas (shown
below as "RE")
(c) The base rate of gas set out in Section II, 1 e
$1 7636
(2) Correctlon of the estimated adjustment determlned by Item
A (1) above shall be ~ncluded as part of the adjustment for
the second following blll~ng month The correcting factor
(shown below as "C") shall be expressed to the nearest
$0 0001 per Mcf based upon
(a) The corrected ad3ustment amount based upon the actual
clty gate rate, less
(b) The estimated adjustment amount b~lled under Item A
(1) above, dlvlded by
(c) Dlstr~but~on system residential and commercial sales
Mcf recorded on the Company's Books during the prior
year for the month that the correct~on is included as
part of the adjustment
(3) The adjustment determined by Item A (1) and Item A (2) above
shall be mult~plled by a tax factor of 1 04163 to ~nclude
street and alley rental and state occupation tax due to ~n-
creasing Company revenues under this gas cost adjustment
provision
In summary, the gas cost adjustment (GCA) shall be determined to
the nearest $0 0001 per Mcf by Item A (1), Item A (2), and Item A (3)
as follows

ITEM B TAX ADJUSTMENT
The tax adjustment shall be an amount equivalent to the propor-
tionate part of any new tax, or increased tax, or any other govern-
mental imposition, rental, fee or charge (except state, county, city,
and special d~strlct ad valorem taxes and taxes on net income) lev~ed,
assessed or imposed subsequent to January 1, 1978, upon or allocable
to the Company's distribution operations, by any new or amended law,
ordinance or contract
ITEM C SCHEDULE OF SERVICE CHARGES
(1) Reconnect Charge
In addition to the charges and rates set out above, the Com-
pany shall charge and collect the sum of $20 00 as a reconnect
charge for each reconnectlon or relnauguratlon of gas service,
where service has been discontinued at the same premises for
any reason, with the following exceptions
(a) For a builder who uses gas temporarily during construction
or for display purposes,
(b) For the first occupant of the premises,
(c) Whenever gas service has been temporarily interrupted
because of system outage, service work or appliance
installation done by Company, or
(d) For any reason deemed necessary for Company operations

The charge for extendang maans beyond the free lamat
establashed by Lone Star Gas, or any free limit establashed
by caty franchase as $4 50 per foot except for large com-
mercaal and ~ndustraal consumers which are handled on an
actual cost per foot basas
(5) Returned Check Charges
A returned check handlang charge of $3 00 is made for each
check returned to the Company for reasons of non-suff~caent
funds, account closed, payment wathheld, anvalld sagnature,
or amproper preparation
