AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE EAST SIDE OF LOCUST STREET
FROM PEACH STREET TO FM 2164, AND PROHIBITING PARKINC ON THE WEST
SIDE OF BELL A~YENUE FROM SHERMAN DRIVE TO UNIVERSITY DRIVE FROM
7.00 A M, TO 7:00 P M ; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING
A PENALTY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
(1) That parking on the east side of Locust Street from Peach
Street to FM 2164 shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or
an any ~manner obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so
posted by the proper authorities of the City of Denton, Texas
(2) That the west side of Bell Avenue from Sherman Drive to
University Drive shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or
in any ~anner obstructed at any time between the hours of 7 00 A ~
to 7:00 P M , and the same shall be so posted by the proper auth-
orities of the City of Denton, Texas
SECTION II
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or circumstances is held invalid by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and the Caty Council of the
City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares at would have enacted such
remaining portions despite any such invalidity
SECTION III
That Section 1-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Denton ls incorporated into the ordanance as if set out in full
herein, and the penalty by fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars
is applicable hereto, and it is hereby declared unlawful to park
any vehicle on any portion of the above described streets as is
posted or marked as a "No Parking Zone"
SECTION IV.
Thmt this ordinance shall become effective fourteen days from
the date of ~ts passage, and the City Secretary is hereby d~rected
to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twmce in the
Denton Record-Chronlcle, the official newspaper of the Clty of
Denton, Texas, w~thln ten (10) days of the date of lts passage
