Ordinance No. 2004-133 05/04/04 AN ORDINANCE REMOVING PARKING ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SHERMAN DRIVE, WOODLAND STREET, STUART ROAD, CORONADO STREET, KINGS ROW, BELL AVE- NUE, LOCUST STREET, ELM STREET AND MULBERRY STREET, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I (a) That the east and west szdes of Sherman Drive from its ~ntersectlon with Carroll Boulevard to the north c~ty limits except along the east and west curb from a point 225 feet north of the tersectlon with Coronado Drive-Live Oak Street to a point 300 feet south of the zntersectlon with Monterey Street shall not be used for parklng of vehicles or in any manner obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so posted by the proper authorities of the City of Denton, Texas (b) That the north and south s~des of Woodland Street from a point at the east end of the trafflc island east for a distance of 125 feet shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or in any manner obstructed at any tlme, and the same shall be so posted by the proper authorities of the City of Denton, Texas (c) That the west slde of Stuart Road from its lntersectlon with Coronado Street to its intersection with Sherman Drive shall not be used for the parkzng of vehicles or in any manner obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so posted by the proper authorities of the Clty of Denton, Texas (d) That the north slde of Coronado Street from its intersection with Sherman Drive west around the curve and then north on the east side of Stuart Road for a total distance of 150 feet shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or in any manner obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so posted by the proper authorities of the Czty of Denton, Texas (e) That the north and south sides of Kings Row from its tersectlon with Sherman Drlve west and east for a distance of twenty feet shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or in any manner obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so posted by the pro- per authorities of the C~ty of Denton, Texas (f) That the south side of Bell Avenue from its intersection with Sherman Drive west for a distance of 100 feet shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or in any manner obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so posted by the proper auth- orities of the City of Denton, Texas (g) That the east side of Locust Street from its intersection with Sherman Drive north for a distance of 100 feet shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or in any manner obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so posted by the proper auth- orities of the City of Denton, Texas (h) That the east side of Elm Street from its intersection with Sherman Drive north for a distance of thirty feet shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or in any manner obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so posted by the proper authorities of the City of Denton, Texas (1) That the north side of Mulberry Street from its inter- section with Locust Street to a point 80 feet east of its inter- section with Elm Street shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or in any manner obstructed at any time, and the same shall be so posted by the proper authorities of the City of Denton, Texas That items (b) through (h) are shown for clarification on the attached Exhibits A and such Exhibits are incorporated Into this ordinance as if the same were set out specifically herein SECTION II That Section 1-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton is incorporated into the ordinance as if set out in full herein, and the penalty by fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00) is applicable hereto, and it is hereby declared unlawful to park any vehicle on any portion of the above described streets as is posted or marked as a "No Parking Zone" SECTION III That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any per- son or circumstances is held invalid by any court of competent 3urls- --2-- dlctzon, such holdzng shall not affect the valzdlty of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton hereby declares it would have enacted such remaznlng portzons despite any such lnvalidzty SECTION IV That thzs ordinance shall become effectzve fourteen days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the captzon of thzs ordinance to be publzshed twzce zn the Denton Record-Chronicle, the
