1978-037AN ORDINANCE REMOVING PARKING ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDES OF AVE-
NUE A BETWEEN NAPLE AND FANNIN STREETS, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SEqTION I
That the east and west szdes of Avenue A between Maple and
Fann~n shall not be used for the parking of vehicles or in any man-
ner obstructed at any t~me, and the same shall be so posted by the
proper authorities of the City of Denton, Texas
SECTION II
That Section 1-5 of the Code of the Czty of Denton ~s incor-
porated ~nto the ordinance as ~f set out ~n full here~n, and the
penalty by fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00) ~s
applicable hereto, and ~t is hereby declared unlawful to park any
vehicle on such port~on of the north or south side of Avenue A
between Maple Street and Fann~n Street as ~s posted or marked as
a "No Parking Zone"
SECTION III
That ~f any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in th~s ordznance, or application thereof to any
person or circumstances zs held ~nval~d by any court of competent
3ur~sd~¢t~on, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of th~s ordinance, and the C~ty Council of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would have enacted such
remaining port~ons despite any such ~nval~d~ty
SECTION IV
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen days from
the date of its passage, and the City Secretary ~s hereby d~rected
to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twice in the
Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of the City of
Denton, Texas, w~thzn ten (10) days of the date of ~ts passage
