1978-028AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, DISANNEXING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF LAND AS A PART OF THE CITY OF DENTON, AND DECLhRING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, it has been proposed to the C~ty Council of the City of Denton, Texas, that ~t ~s desirable and to the best in- terest o£ the City of Denton, Texas~ that the territories des- erlbed in Exhibits "A", "B" and "C", which is hereafter called "Territories", be dlsannexed as a part of sa~d C~ty, and WHEREAS, the Clty of Denton has not been able to and does not foresee being able to provide governmental and proprietary services to the territories within the next three years which ~s substantially equivalent to the standard of governmental and pro- pr~etary services furnished by the City to other areas similar ~n topography, patterns of land utlllzat~on, and population density of the territories described in Exhibits "A", "B" and "C", and WHEREAS, xt appears that the ma3or~ty of the owners of the land described in Exhibits "A", "B" and "C" are deslrouq of being dlsannexed from the C~ty of Denton, Texas, therefore THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I (1) That the matters and facts recxted herein ~n the pre- amble of th~s ordinance are hereby found and determined to be true and correct (2) That, pursuant to Articles 970a and 1175(2), Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, the Territorxes described in Exhibits "A", "B" and "C" attached hereto and made a part hereof are hereby dis- continued as a part of the City of Denton, Texas (3) That the C~ty Seoretary ~s hereby authorized and directed to enter this Ordinance on the mxnutes and records of the C~ty of Denton, Texas to the effect that saxd Territories are d~sannexed as a part of the City of Denton, and after the entry of th~s ordin- ance the said Territories shall cease to be a part of the C~ty of Denton, Texas SECTION II That this ordinance shall become effectlve ~mmed~ately after · ts passage and
