AN ORDINANCE REMOVING PARKING ON THE WEST SIDE OF BELL AVENUE AND
THE SOUTH SIDE OF HICKORY STREET, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,
PROVIDING A PENALTY, AND DECI~RING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
(a) That the west side of Bell Avenue for a dxstance of 200
feet north of the north curb line of Unxversxty Drxve shall not be
used for the parkxng of vehicles or xn any manner obstructed at any
txme, and the same shall be so posted by the proper authorxtxes of
the Cxty of Denton
(b) That the south sxde of Hxckory Street for a dxstance of
300 feet west of the west curb line of Welch Street shall not be
used for the parking of vehicles or xn any manner obstructed at any
time, and the same shall be so posted by the proper authorxtxes of
the City of Denton
SECTION II.
That Sectxon 1-5 of the Code of the City of Denton xs incor-
porated into the ordxnance as xf set out xn full herezn, and the
penalty by fxne not to exceed Two Hundred ($200 00) Dollars xs
applxcable hereto, and xt xs hereby declared unlawful to park any
vehxcle on such portion of the west sxde of Bell Avenue and the
south sxde of Hxckory Street as xs posted or marked as a "No Park-
lng Zone"
SECTION II
That xf any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word ~n th~s ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or c~rcumstances ~s held invalid by any court of competent
ourxsd~ct~on, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and the C~ty Council of the
Czty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would have enacted such
remaxnlng port~ons despite any such ~nval~d~ty
SECTION III
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen days
from the date of ~ts passage, and the C~ty Secretary is hereby
directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published
twice ~n the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of
the C~ty of Denton, Texas, w~th~n ten (10) days of the date of
its passage
