1978-010 ORDINANC. m No 7 8- ORO~ INA~CE ,CA~VASSING ~L~CT~N RETURNS T~ STATE OF TE~S CO~TY OF DENTON CITY OF DENTON ~E~AS, the City Council of said C!ty ordered an elec~on to be held in said City on FEBRUARY 28, 1978, on ~he PROPOSI- TIONS hereinafter stated, and WHE~AS, said Cl~y Council has investigated all matters Pertaining to sal~ elect~on, including the ordering, giving no~lce, officers, holdlng, and making returns of sa~d elect~on, and ~E~AS, the election officers who held said election have duly made =he re~urns of the result thereof, and said returns have been duly delivered to th~s C~y Council THE CO~CIL OF TH~ CITY OF DENTON HE.BY ORDAINS 1 That the City Council o~flclally f~nds and de~erm~nes ~at said election was duly ordered, that 9roper not~ce o~ said election was duly given, =hat 9roper election officers were duly a99olnted prior to said election, that sa~d election was duly held, that due returns of the resul~ of said election have been made and delivered, and =hat =he C~y Council has duly can- rasped said returns, all in accordance with law and the Ordi- nance calling sal~ election 2 That the City Council officially f~nds and de~e~lnes that the following votes were cast at said elect~on on each s~mi=ted PROPOSITION, by the resident, qualified electors of said City who voted at the election THE fSSU~CE OF $1,815,000 T~ ISSU~CE OF $775,000 OF THE ISSU~CE OF $880,000 OF ~ ~ VOTES AGAINST POLICE FACILITIES BONDS ZSSU CE OF $ 30,000 OF ~--~ FI~ FIGHTING FACILITIES BONDS VOTES AGAINST 3 That the City Council officially finds, dete~lnes, and declares the result of sa~d elect~on to be that each PROPOSITION so s~mltted has received a favorable majority vote in all respects and has carried, and that the aforesaid bonds may be issued in accordance with law CERTIFICATE FOR ORDINANCE CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DENTON CITY OF DENTON We, the underslgned officers of said City, hereby certlfy as, follows 1 The City Counczl of saz~ Cl_ty convened in atlthe Municipal Building (C~ty Hall), and the roll was called ofI the duly constituted offlcers and members of sald City Council, to-w~t Brooks Holt, City Secretary Ellnor Hughes, Mayor Bill Nash D~ck Stewart , Joe Mltchell Mary Claude Gay and all of said persons were present, except the followlng absentees , thus constituting a quorum Whereupon, among other business, the following was transacted at sa~d Meeting a written ORDINANCE CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS was duly introduced for the conslderatlon of sa~d Clty Councll and read in full It was then duly moved and seconded that sa~d Ordinance be passed, and, after due d~scusslon, sald mo- tlpn, carrying with it the passage of sald Ordlnance, prevall- edland carried by the following vote AYES All members of sald City Councll shown present above voted "Aye" NOES None 2 That a true, full, and correct copy of the aforesald Ordlnance passed at the Meetlng descrlbed ~n the above and fore- going paragraph is attached to and follows thls Certlf~cate, that sald Ordinance has been duly recorded in sald Clty Councll's m~nutes of sald Meetlng, that the above and foregoing paragraph ls, a true, full, and correct excerpt from sald City Councll's ml~utes of said Meetlng pertaining to the passage of sald Ordl- na~ce, that the persons named ~n the above and foregoing para- graph are the duly chosen, quallf~ed, and acting officers and me~bers of sald City Councll as indicated thereln, that each of the officers and members of sa~d City Councll was duly and suffi- cl~ntly not,fled offlcially and personally, in advance, of the tl~e, place, and purpose of the aforesald Meeting, and that said Ordlnance would be ~ntroduced and considered for passage at sald Me~tlng, and each of said officers and members consented, in ad- vance, to the holding of said Meeting for such purpose, and that sa~d Meetlng was open to the public, and publlc notice of the time, place, and purpose of said beefing was glven, all as re- quzred by Vernon's Ann C~v St Article 6252-17 3 That the Mayor of said Clty has approved, and hereby approves, the aforesaid Ordlnance, that the Mayor and the C~ty Secretary of said Clty have duly signed said Ordlnance, and that the Mayor and the Clty Secretary of sald City hereby de- clare that their slgnlng of thls Certificate shall constltute the slgnlng of the attached and followlng copy of sald Ordlnance fo~ all purposes We, the undersigned, being respectively the City Attorney and the Bond Attorneys of the Clty of Denton, Texas, hereby cer- tl~y that we prepared and approved as to legallty the attached and followlng Ordinance prlor to its passage as aforesald Cit~At~torney B6nd Attorneys
