1976-050AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF HENRY STREET TO SHERMAN DRIVE,
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
The C~ty Council hereby f~nds and determines that the public
convenience would be best served ~f Henry Street was renamed There-
fore, Henry Street shall be now and hereafter known as Sherman Drive
and such name ~s hereby changed and so designated
SECTION II
That ~f any section, subsectlon, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word ~n th~s ordLnance, or application thereof to any per-
son or circumstances ~s held ~nval~d by any court of competent juris-
diction, such holding shall not affect the val~dlty of the remaining
portlons of th~s ordinance, and the C~ty Councll of the Clty of
Denton, Texas, hereby declares at would have enacted such remaining
portions despite any such ~nval~d~ty
SECTION III
That this ordinance shall become effectlve fourteen (14) days
from the date of ~ts passage, and the C~ty Secretary ~s hereby
d~rected to cause the caption of th~s ordinance to be published
twice ~n the Denton Record-ChronIcle, the official newspaper of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, w~th~n ten (10) days of the date of ~ts pass-
age
