AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A TRAFFIC
CONTROL SIGNAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF BELL AVENUE AND WITHERS
STREET, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC-
TIVE DATE
WHEREAS, In the interest of safety for the vehicular and
pedestrian traffic ~n the C~ty of Denton ~t ~s desirable to
erect and ma~ntaln a traffic control s~gnal at the ~ntersectlon
of Bell Avenue and Wlthers Street,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, THAT
PART I
A traffic control s~gnal shall be ~nstalled at the ~nter-
section of Bell Avenue and W~thers Street, and the C~ty agrees to
enforce all regulatlons as may be necessary for proper operatlon
of the lnstallat~on, and shall maintain and operate the s~gnal ~n
a satisfactory manner
PART II
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word ~n th~s ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or c~rcumstances ~s held ~nval~d by any court of competent
~ur~sd~ctlon, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portlons of this ordinance, and the C~ty Council of the
Clty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted such
remalnlng portions desplte any such invalidity
PART III
That th~s ordlnance shall become effective fourteen (14) days
from the date of ~ts passage, and the Clty Secretary ~s hereby
d~rected to cause the caption of th~s ordinance to be published
twice ~n the Denton Re¢ord-Chronlcle, the official newspaper of
the City of Denton, Texas, wlthln ten (10) days of the date of
· ts passage
