1974-045 NO AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF 227 9 ACRES OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE COUNTY OF DENTON, STATE OF TEXAS, CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS "A" AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT PROPERTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the request for annexation was introduced at a re- gular meeting of the City Councll of the City of Denton, Texas, on the petition of the Planning Department of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, and WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a public hearing held for that purpose on July 2, 1974 for all interested persons to state their v~ews and present evidence bearing upon the annexa- tion provided by th~s ordinance, and WHEREAS, th~s ordinance has been published in full at least one time in the offlclal newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, prior to lts effective date, and after the publlc hearlngs, NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I That the hereinafter descrlbed tract of land be, and the same · s hereby annexed to the C~ty of Denton, Texas, and the same is made hereby a part of sald City and the land and the present and future ~nhab~tants thereof shall be entitled to all the r~ghts and privileges of other c~t~zens of sa~d C~ty and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of sald C~ty now in effect or which may here- after be enacted and the property s~tuated there~n shall be subject to and shall bear lts pro-rata part of the taxes levied by the Clty The tract of land hereby annexed is described as follows, to-w~t All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being s~tu- ated ~n the County of Denton, State of Texas and being a 227 9 acre tract, more or less, ~n the W Hudson Survey, Abstract No 586, the G W Daugherty Survey, Abstract No 351, the G Blair Survey, Abstract No 1511, the W Reed Survey, Abstract No 1073 the H McMurray Survey, Abstract No 956, the J Bohannon Survey, Abstract No 89, and the J Smlth Survey, Abstract No 1180, all in Denton County, Texas and belng more partlcularly descrlbed as follows BEGINNING at a point in the existing city limits, as established by City Ordinance No 69-40, sald point lying in the south l~ne of the W Hudson Survey, sa~d polnt belng about 40 feet easterly of the southwest corner of the said Hudson Survey and belng also, 500 feet easterly at r~ght angles from the centerl~ne of U S H~ghway 377, the same being on the Extraterrltorlal Jurisdiction Agreement Line Agreement between the Clty of Denton and the C~ty of Argyle THENCE north 27° 28' east parallel to and 500 feet easterly of the centerllne of said Hlghway 377, 1105 2 feet, more or less, to a point for a corner, THENCE south 870 44' east parallel to and 1000 feet northerly of the aforementioned Denton-Argyle Agreement Line, 1184 2 feet, more or less, to a point for a corner, THENCE north 58° east parallel to and 1000 feet northwesterly of the aforementioned Denton-Argyle Agreement Lzne, 665 1 feet, more or less, to a point for corner, THENCE east crossing the east line of the Hudson Survey, the same bezng the west line of the said G W Daugherty Survey, continuing parallel w~th and 1000 feet north of said Denton-Argyle Agreement L~ne, crossing the old Denton-Fort Worth Road, crosszng the survey line common as the east line of the said G W Daugherty Survey and the west line of the W Reed Survey, overall, a total dzstance of 3834 3 feet, more or less, to a point for a corner, THENCE south 1° 45' west 600 feet easterly of and parallel to sazd Denton-Argyle Agreement Line, crossing the survey line common as the most easterly south lzne of the W Reed Survey and the most westerly north line of the H McMurray Survey, crossing the south line of the said McMurray Survey, the same being the north line of the J Bohannon Survey, overall, a total dzstance of 3544 5 feet, more or less, to a point for corner, THENCE south 14~ 10' west parallel to and 600 feet easterly of sazd Denton-Argyle Agreement Line a total distance of 1860 9 feet, more or less, to a point for corner, THENCE south 0~ 40' east parallel to and 600 feet easterly of said Denton-Argyle Agreement Line crossing public road, same being the survey llne common as the south lane of the J Bohannon Survey and the north line of the J Smith Survey, overall, a total d~stance of 2262 8 feet, more or less, to a point for corner, THENCE south 89~ 20' west 600 0 feet to a point ~n sazd Denton- Argyle Agreement Line, sazd line being with the center of a north- south county road, THENCE north 0° 40' west along aforementzoned agreement lzne, cross- zng the survey l~ne common as the north l~ne of the J Smith Survey and the south line of the J Bohannon Survey, overall, a total dis- tance of 2340 0 feet, more or less, to a point for a corner, THENCE north 14° 10' east with sa~d agreement line 1875 0 feet, more or less, to the survey corner common as the southerly southwest cor- ner of the aforementioned McMurray Survey and the southeast corner of the said Reed Survey on the north l~ne of the sa~d Bohannon Survey, THENCE north 1° 45' east w~th said agreement lzne, same being the most westerly west line of the sa~d McMurray Survey and the most south- erly east line of the said Reed Survey, a total distance of 2460 0 feet, more or less, to the most westerly northwest corner of said McMurray Survey, common as a inner, or el corner of the said Reed Survey, THENCE west wath saad agreement l~ne, passing another ~nner, or el corner of the said Reed Survey the same being the southeast corner of the G Blaar Survey, overall, a total d~stance of 2917 0 feet more or less, to the center of the old Denton-Fort Worth Road, sa~d poant being approximately 47 feet west of the southwest corner of the Blair Survey, THENCE south 580 west w~th the centerllne of said old Denton-Fort Worth Road, same beang aforementaoned agreement lane, a total das- tance of 686 6 feet, more or less, to a point an the north lane of the J F Jordan Survey, Abstract No 677, the same being the south l~ne of the sald Hudson Survey, THENCE north 87° 44' west wath sa~d agreement l~ne 1963 0 feet to the place of beginning and ¢ontaanang 227 9 acres of land, more or less SECTION II The above desor~bed property ~s hereby classaf~ed as "A" Agr~- cultural Distract and shall so appear on the offlclal zonlng map of the Caty of Denton, whach map ls hereby amended accordlngly SECTION III This ordlnanoe shall be effective ~mmedaately upon ats passage PASSED
