1974-044 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO
THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR PARCEL
OF LAND CONSISTING OF 94 5 ACRES OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATED
IN THE COUNTY OF DENTON, STATE OF TEXAS, CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS
"A" AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT PROPERTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the request for annexation was introduced at a re-
gular meeting of the Caty Councal of the City of Denton, Texas,
on the petataon of the Plannang Department of the City of Denton,
Texas, and
W~EREAS, an opportunaty was afforded, at a public hearing
held for that purpose on July 2, 1974 for all anterested persons
to state thear vaews and present evidence bearang upon the annexa-
taon provided by thas ordanance, and
WHEREAS, this ordinance has been published in full at least
one time in the offacial newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas,
prior to ats effective date, and after the public hearings,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the hereinafter deserlbed tract of land be, and the same
is hereby annexed to the Caty of Denton, Texas, and the same is
made hereby a part of saad City and the land and the present and
future anhabatants thereof shall be entitled to all the raghts and
pravaleges of other catazens of saad City and shall be bound by the
acts and ordinances of saad Caty now an effect or whach may hereafter
be enacted and the property situated therein shall be subject to and
shall bear ats pro-rata part of the taxes levied by the City The
tract of land hereby annexed as described as follows, to-wit
All tha~ oertaan lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being sit-
uated an the County of Denton, State of Texas, and being part of
the G Walker Survey, Abstract No 1330 and being more particularly
desorabed as follows
BEGINNING at a poant in the exastlng c~ty lamats as establashed by
City Ordanance No 73-5, saad poant of beginning being 250 0 feet
southwest of and at right angles from the centerlane of Interstate
Haghway 35E,
THENCE north i° 42' east along the existing city llmats lane and
crossing the centerllne of Interstate Haghway 35E a distance of
786 9 feet to a poant for a corner, said point being 500 0 feet
northeast of and at r~ght angles to the centerl~ne of Interstate
Haghway 35E and also beang 1000 0 feet north 3° 45' east from the
south boundary lane of saad G Walker Survey,
THENCE south 86° 15' east 1000 0 feet north of and parallel with
the south boundary line of saad G Walker Survey, a total distance
of 3,917 1 feet to a poant for a corner in the east right of way
lane of a public road known as Old Cemetery Road,
THENCE south 1° 12' west along the east right of way llne of saad
road, a dastance of 459 3 feet to a poant,
THENCE south 100 23' east along the east right of way line of said
road a dastance of 132 2 feet to a point,
THENCE south 18° 45' east along the east right of way l~ne of saad
road, a dastance of 214 4 feet to a poant,
THENCE south 35° 24' east along the east raght of way l~ne of sa~d
road a dastance of 277 2 feet to a point for a corner, saad poant
being the ~nterseot~on of the extended east right of way line of
sa~d Old Cemetery Road and the centerllne of Shady Shores Road and
also beang an the south boundary line of ~ad G Walker Survey,
THENCE north 86° 15' west along the centerlane of saad Shady Shores
Road part of the way and also along the south boundary line of sa~d
G Walker Survey, a dastance of 4,696 0 feet to a point for a corner

The above descrabed property ls hereby classified as "A"
Agricultural Distract and shall so appear on the offac~al zonang
map of the Caty of Denton, which map ~s hereby amended accordingly
SECTION III
Thas ordanance shall be effectave ammed~ately upon its passage
