1974-040AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE LEGAL MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT ON PORTIONS OF
DALLAS DRIVE, PROVIDING A PEN/kLTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND DECLAR-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the maximum speed l~mlt on the below described portion of
Dallas Drive, a public street wlthln the City of Denton, Ks hereby
changed as follows
DALLAS DRIVE - NORTH-BOUND
50 MPH 50 feet south of centerl~ne of IH 35E Service Road
45 MPH 100 feet south of centerllne of Rio Grande Boulevard
40 MPH 50 feet north of centerllne of Piping Rock Lane
35 MPH 50 feet north of centerl~ne of Hopkins Dr~ve
35 MPH 50 feet south of centerllne of Alegre V~sta Drive
35 MPH 100 feet south of centerllne of Smith Street
30 MPH 50 feet south of centerllne of Johnson Street
DALLAS DRIVE - SOUTH-BOUND
35 MPH 50 feet south of centerl~ne of Johnson Street
35 MPH 100 feet south of centerllne of Smith Street
35 MPH 50 feet south of centerllne of Alegre V~sta Drive
40 MPH 100 feet south of centerllne of Teasley Lane

SECTION II
That anyone exceeding th~s speed llmlt, when posted, wlthout
legal excuse, shall be gullty of a misdemeanor, and, upon convictIon,
shall be punished by a fine of any amount not exceeding Two Hundred
($200 00) Dollars
SECTION III
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in force when the
provisions of th~s ordinance become effective which are ~ncons~stent
or ~n conflict wlth the terms or provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict
SECTION IV
That if any sectlon, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word of th~s ordinance, or application thereof to any per-
son or c~rcumstances, are held lnvalld by any court of competent
jurlsdlctlon, such holdlng shall not affect the validity of the re-
manning portions of th~s ordinance, and the C~ty Council of the C~ty
of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would have enacted such remain-
lng portions despite any such ~nval~d~ty
SECTION V
That this ordlnance shall become effective fourteen (14) days
from the date of its passage, and the Clty Secretary is hereby
directed to cause the caption of th~s ordinance to be published in
the Denton Record-Chronicle w~th~n ten (10) days of the date of ~ts
passage
