THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR PARCEL OF
LAND CONSISTING OF 152 49 ACRES LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE
cOUNTY OF DENTON, STATE OF TEXAS AND BEING A PART OF THE M E P &
P R R COMPANY SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO 950 CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS
PD PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT PROPERTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFEC-
TIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the request for annexation was ~ntroduced at a re-
gular meeting of the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas,
on the petition of WARREN CLARK, and
WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a publlc hearing
held for that purpose on July 16, 1974, for all interested per-
sons to state their views and present evidence bearing upon the
annexa%lon provided by this ordinance; and
W~EREAS, this ordinance has been publashed an full at least
one time in the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas,
prior to its effective date, and after the publac hearing,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY
ORDAINS~
SECTION I
That the hereinafter described tract of land be, and the
same is hereby annexed to the City of Denton, Texas, and the same
is made hereby a part of said City and the land and the present
and future inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the rights
and privileges of other citizens of sa~d City and shall be bound
by the acts and ordinances of said City now in effect or which
may hereafter be enacted and the property situated therein shall
be subject to and shall bear its pro-rata part of the taxes levied
by the City The tract of land hereby annexed as described as
follows, to-wit
BEING a part of the M E P & P R R Company Survey, Abstract No
950 in Denton County, Texas and being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows
BEGINNING at the intersection of the north line of the said M E P
& P R R Company Survey and the southerly line of Interstate HiGh-
way 35~E,
THENCE south 54° 57' east along the said southerly r~qht of way
line of Interstate Highway 35-E, 169 80 feet,
THENCE south 49~ 57' east along said southerly right of way lane
of Interstate Highway 35-E, 1090 11 feet,
THENCE south 39" 21' west 345 81 feet,
THENCE south 2° 05' west, 2444 26 feet to a point in the north
line of the Denton State School property,
THENCE ~est along said Denton State School property, 1885 35 feet
to a point in ~e east lane of the M E P & P R R Company Survey,
THENCE ~orth along said easterly lane of M E P & P R R Company
Survey, 3509 0 feet to a point in the north line of the M E P &
P R R Compmny Survey,
THENCE east 122~ 0 feet along said north line of Se M E P & P R R
Company ISurvey to the point of beginning and conta~nln~ 152 49 acres
of land, more or less
SECTION I,I
The dove described proper~ is hereby classified as "PD"
Planned Development District sd shall so appear on the official
zoning map of the City of Denton, Texas, which map is hereby
amended~accordingly
SECTION III
This ordinance shall be effective zmmediately upon zts pass-
age
