AND C~ARGES FOR LOCAL EXCHANGE TELEPHONE SERVICE AND SERVICE
CONNECTION CHARGES AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, PRESCRIB-
ING T~E PROCEDURE AND CONTENTS FOR DETAILED ANNUAL REPORT AS
TO SERVICE FURNISHED BY GENERAL TELEPHONE COMPANY OF THE SOUTH-
WEST, ,AND FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH
THIS ORDINANCE IS PASSED IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY
LAW
WHEREAS, General Telephone Company of the Southwest has
heretofore filed wzth the Czty Counczl a request for a rate in-
crease mn order that sazd company may realzze a fazr return on
the value of the telephone company local exchange propertzes, snd
WHEREAS, the Czty Counczl set a public meetzn?, and held
same zn connectzon therewith, and the Czty Counczl has duly con-
szdered sazd applicatzon and made znvestzgatzon, and after con-
szderatzon as to the presentation of all matters by all partzes
concerned, zs of the opinion that the followzn~ schedule of rates
will permit the General Telephone Company of the Southwest to
realize a fazr return on the value of mrs sazd properties,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS
SECTION I
General Telephone Company of the Southwest shall place
znto effect the followzng schedule of rates for local exchange
telephone servzce on mrs fzrst bzllzn~ date after fznal passage
of this ordinance

SECTION II
As to other rates and charges for mzscellaneous servzce
and equipment not hereznabove included, the schedule and manual
mazntained by General Telephone Company of the Southwest shall
be kept current zn the local office of sazd company and avail-
able for inspection and revzew durzng usual working hours and
after reasonable requests, General Telephone Company of the
Southwest having the rzght to make a reasonable charge for copzes
of any schedules furnished
SECTION III
General Telephone Company of the Southwest shall fzle a
sworn annual report wtthzn szxty (60) days after the close of the
fzscal year of sazd company, zn complzance with Sectzon 13 04 (k)
of the City Charter, City of Denton, Texas, zn compliance with
sazd provision, that it truly and correctly covers its operatzons
and activitzes withzn the Denton Exchange durzng the precedzng
annual reporting period This annual report shall be fzled wzth
the Czty Secretary
SECTION IV
Ail ordznances heretofore passed by the Czty of Denton,
establzshzng rates and charges for telephone servzce, zncluding
specifically the ordinance adopted February 11, 1969, are hereby
repealed effective wzth the establzshment of the rates authorzzed
zn Sectzon I above
SECTION V
Nothing zn thzs ordinance contazned shall be construed
now or hereafter as l~mzting or modzfyzng zn any manner the
rzght and power of the City under the law to regulate the rates
and charges of General Telephone Company of the Southwest
SECTION VI
It zs hereby officially found and determzned that the
meetzng at whzch thzs ordinance zs passed ms open to the public
as requzred by law and that public notzce of the tzme, place
and purpose of sazd meetzng was gzven as requzred by Artzcle
6252-17, V A C S
