1974-013 NO ~ ORDIN./~CE CANVASSING E~ECT~ON RETURNS O~ ELECT~ON HE~D APRIL 2, 1974, TO ELECT T~O CITY COUNCILi¥~N THE COUNCIL O~ THE C~T¥ O~ DENTON~ TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I That the Caty Councal officially fands and determines that an electlon was duly ordered to be held an the City of Denton, Texas, on the 2nd day of Apral, 1974, for the purpose of elect- ang two (2) members to sazd Councml, that proper not~ce of sa~d electaon was duly gaven, that proper electaon officers were duly appointed prlor to said electaon, that saad electmon was duly held, that due returns of the result of said electaon have been made and delavered, and that the City Coumcal has duly canvassed saad returns, all an accordance with law SECTION II That the Caty Councal offlcaally fands and determines that only reszdent qual~faed electors of said City were allowed to vote at saad election, and the following votes were cast at said election for each candadate and write-In, there beang no other person receiving any votes at this election Tom Jester 1,495 votes George Schnezder 1,304 votes Ray Stephens 1,126 votes Raymond Campbell 570 votes Curtis Bagley 304 votes SECTION III That the City Councal offac~ally fands, determanes and de- clares the results of sazd electaon to be that Tom Jester and George Schneider have each received the proper number of votes to be elected, and that each of them is elected to said Council in accordance w~th law PASSED AND APPROVED thzs the 8th day of Apral, A D 1974 ~MAYO CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS ATTEST~ CITY OF DENTON, APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM ' R~I-.PH~(~ITY ATTORNEY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS CERTIFICATE FOR CANVASS ORDINANCE THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DENTON CITY OF DENTON I, the undersigned City Secretary of said City, hereby certify as follows 1 That the attached and following is a true, full, and cor- rect copy of an ordinance canvassing election returns duly passed by the City Council of said City at a special meeting held at the regular meeting place on the 8th day of April, A D 1974, which ordinance has been duly recorded in the M~nutes of the City Council 2 The following are the members and officers of said City Council Bill Neu, Mayor Tom Jester, Mayor Pro-Tem George Schneider, Councilman Morris Klbler, Councilman Lllllan Miller, Councilwoman and all said persons were present at the time of passage of said ordinance except the following absentees 3 That said ordinance was introduced for the consideration of said City Council by its presiding officer and read in full, and upon motion duly made and seconded, said ordinance was passed by the following vote AYES NOES 4 That each of the members and officers of said City Council was duly and sufficiently notified officially and personally, in advance, of the time, place, and purpose of the aforesaid meeting, and each of said members and officers consented in advance to the holding of said meetlng for such purpose 5 That the City Attorney of sa~d City has approved said ordin- ance, that the Mayor and C~ty Secretary of said City have duly signed said ordinance, and that said ordinance was duly enacted SIGNED AND SEALED this the 8th day of April, A D/ 1974 B~K~ HOLT, CITY SECRETARY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS
