1973-023 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1973, AND ENDING ON
SEPTEMBER 30, 1974, REVISING THE BUDGET FOR THE PRECEDING FISCAL
YEAR ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30,~ 1973, LEVYING TAXES FOR THE YEAR
1973 TO BE ASSESSED ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WI{EREAS, notice of a publmc hearing on the budget for the City
of Denton, Texas, for the fiscal year 1973-1974 was heretofore pub-
lished at least 15 days in advance of said hearing, and
W~EREAS, a public hearing on the samd budget was duly held on
the 18th day of September, 1973, and all interested persons were
given an opportunity to be heard for or against any item thereof,
now therefore
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the budget for the City of Denton, Texas, for the fiscal
year beginning October 1, 1973, and ending on September 30, 1974,
in words and figures as shown therein is finally approved and adopt-
ed
SECrZON II
That the budget for the Cmty of Denton, Texas, for the fiscal
year beginning on October 1, 197~, and ending on September 30, 197J 3,
as shown therein in words and figures, ms hereby revised and amended
to show the words and figures indicated as "REVISED 1972-73 in the
budget for the fiscal year baginnmng on October 1, 1973 and ending
on September 30, 1974
SECTION III
That there shall be, and there is hereby levied, the following
taxes on each one hundred dollar ($100 00) valuation on all taxable
property within the City of Denton, Texas, to be assessed and col-
lected by the Tax Assessor and Collector for the year 1973 and said
taxes are to be assessed and collected for the purposes stipulated
as follows, to-wit
(a) For the General Fund Allocation on the
$100 00 val~tmon $ 9357
(b) For the Interest and Redemption Funds on out-
standtnE bonded indebtedness on the $100 00
valuation 7643
Total Allocation of Levy $1 7000
The above allocation of the levy is made to insure that deposmts
in the Interest and Redemption Funds of taxes collected during the
year ending September 30, 1974, will total $755,206 00 but is not in-
tended to exceed that amount
SECTION IV
That the City Manager shall cause copies of the budget to be
filed with the City Secretary, the County Clerk of Denton County and
the State Comptroller of Public Accounts
