AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER NINE, ARTICLE III OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON BY ADDING TO SECTION 9-30
THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE ENTITLED SECTION 9-30 1, PROVIDING
A MEANS WHEREBY LICENSES OR REGISTERED ELECTRICIANS FROM OTHER
CITIES MAY DO WORK IN THE CITY OF DENTON WITHOUT TAKINC AN EX-
AMINATION, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS ENUMERATED THEREIN,
PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS
SECTION I
That Chapter Nine, Article III of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Denton, Texas, as amended, is hereby additionally
amended by adding to saad Article and Chapter a new qection to be
known as Sectlon 9-30 1 to read as follows
"Section 9-30 1 - Recognition of Licenses or CertIficates of Registration from other C~tles
Electricians holding a currently valid license or certlfa-
cate of registration in another C~t¥ may apply for and receive a
samllar l~cense or certaflcate of registration an the City of
Denton w~thout taking an examination provided the followlng con-
dltlons are complied w~th
(1) He shall submit evidence satisfactory to a majority of
the Ele~t~ical Code Board that has license or certificate of re-
g~strat~o~ was ~ssued under conditions not less restractlve than
required by the Denton Eleotr~cal Code for ~ssuance of a Master
or Journeyman ElectricIan L~cense, and that an electrician holding
a license issued by the City of Denton would be permitted to aDDly
for and receive a s~malar license or certificate of regastrat~on
an such other caty under reciprocal conditions
(2) He shall pay the regastratlon fee requared and comply
w~th a~l other requirements of the Denton Electrical Code"
SECTION II
Artlcle III, Chapter Nine, save and except th~s Amendment
hereto, shall remain in full force and effect
SECTION III
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in th~s ordinance, or application thereof to any
person or c~rcumstances is held invalid by any court of competent
~urlsd~ction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, hereby declares ~t would have enacted such
remaining port~ons despite any such invalidity
