THE CODE, OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, FSTABLISHINC
THE PAYMENT OF FINES ON DATE OF VIOLATION IN REGARDS TO PARKING
METER VIOLATIONS, AND DECLARING AN FFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HFREBY ORDAINS
PART I
That Chapter 24, Article V, Division II of the Code of Ordin-
ances of the City of Denton, Texas, is hereby amended by changing
Section 24-150 "payment of fines on date of violation" as follows
Section 24-150 - PAYMENT OF FINES ON DATE OF VIOLATION
If the owner or operator of any vehicle upon which a not~ce of
vlolatlon has been placed as provided in Section 24-149 shall bring
the same to the Clerk of the Municipal Court in the Municipal Build-
lng during the same calendar day in which the not~ce was issued, the
fine for such vlolatlon shall be One Dollar ($1 00), and the fine
shall also apply an cases where the notice Ks deposited w~th One
Dollar ($1 00) in one of the designated fine boxes attached to cer-
tain parking meters in each of the parking meter zones on the same
calender day ~n which the notice was issued, and after the expiration
of the calendar day in wh~oh any such not~ce of violation is issued,
the violation shall be treated as any other ca~e f~led in the Mun~-
and
clpal Court/shall be subject to the penalties provided for other
latlons of this Chapter, provided however, that the Drovlslon~ of
this Sect&on shall apply only to those cases involving overtime park-
lng w~th~n a parking meter zone
That th~s ordinance shall become effective /~_ days from the
date of its passage, the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause
the caption of this ordinance to be published twice in the Denton
Record-Chronicle wlth~n ten (10) days of the date of ~ts passage
