1968-030AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PARKING LIMITATIONS UPON CERTAIN
STREETS IN THE VICINITY OF THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT,
PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATING SUCH LIMITATIONS, AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
PART I
T~at the parking area upon and along the following streets,
and portions of streets, in the City of Denton, Texas, are
hereby declared to be limited to the parking of a vehicle for
a continuous per~od not to exceed two (2) hours, or no parking
zones, as posted
AUSTIN, from Mulberry to McKlnney, shall be
l~mlted to two (2) hom parking unless
posted "no parking",
WALNUT, from Austin to Cedar, shall be limited
to two (2) hour parking unless posted
"no parking",
LOCUST, from Mulberry to McK~nney, shall be
limited to two {2) hour parking unless
posted "no parking",
HICKORY,from Oakland-Industrial to Plner, shall
be limited to two (2) hour parking un-
less posted "no parking",
MULBERRY, from Cedar to Elm, shall be l~mlted
to two (2) hour parking unless posted
"no parking",
CEDAR, from Mulberry to Pecan, shall be llm~t-
ed to two (2) hour parking unless post-
ed "no parking",
OAK, from Austin to Bolivar, shall be limited
to two (2} hour parking unless posted
"no parking",
PECAN, from Cedar to Austin, shall b~ limited to
two (2) hour parking unless posted

ELM, from McK~nney to Mulberry shall be llm~t-
ed to two (2) hour parking unless posted
"no parking",
PART II
Any person who shall wolate any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a m~sdemeanor and, upon conv~ctlon
thereof, shall be fined two dollars ($2 00) for the first such
violation, if paid wlthln ten (10) days of the date of the vio-
lation, and shall be fined any amount not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200 00) for each subsequent violation, or if the
f~rst wolatlon Ts not paid within ten (10) days Each two
(2) hour limitation period shall constitute a separate offense
if v~olated, and each day's wolat~on shall be a separate
offense
PART III
When any vehicle subject to the terms of th~s ordinance
shall be parked or left unattended and in violation hereof,
such fact shall constitute prima fac~e ewdence of the v~olat~on
of this ordinance by the owner of such vehicle
PART I V
This ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances
of the C~ty of Denton except ~n those ~nstances where such
ordinances are in conflict herewith, in which Instances the
terms of th~s ordinance shall prevail
PART V
Should any section, article, provision or part of this
ordinance be declared to be unconstitutional and void by a
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall in no
way affect the validity of any of the remaining parts of this
ordinance unless the part held uncon~l tut~onal or void is in-
separable from and ~ndlspensable to the operation of the re-
maining parts The Council hereby declares that it would have
passed those parts of this ordinance which are valid and omitt-
ed any parts which may be unconstitutional ~f ~t had known that
such parts were unconstitutional at the t~me of the passage of
this ordlnance
PART VI
That th~s ordinance shall become effective ~mmed~ately
upon ~ts passage, and the C~ty Secretary ~s hereby d~rected to
cause the caption of th~s ordinance to be published twice in
the Denton Record-Chronicle, the official newspaper of the C~ty
of Denton, Texas, w~thln six (6) days of the date of its
passage
