AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO
THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR PARCEL
OF LAND CONSISTING OF 34 060 ACRES LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN
THE COUNTY OF DENTON, STATE OF TEXAS AND BEING IN THE M E P AND
P R R COMPANY SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO 927, CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS
AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT PROPERTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the request for annexation was introduced at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas,
on the petition of John Sargent and Bob A Lohrke, and
WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a public hearing,
for all interested persons to state their views and present evi-
dence bearing upon the annexation provided by th~s ordinance, and
WHEREAS, this ordinance has been published in full at least
one time in the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas,
prior to its effective date, and after the public hearing,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the hereinafter described tract of land be, and the
same is hereby annexed to the City of Denton, Texas, and the
same is made hereby a part of said City and the land and any pre-
sent and future inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the
rights and privileges of other citizens of said City and shall be
bound by the acts and ordinances of said City now ~n effect or
which may hereafter be anacted and the property situated therein
shall be subject to and shall bear 1ts pro-rata part of the taxes
lev~ed by the City The tract of land hereby annexed is describ-
ed as follows, to-wit
All tkat certain lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being
situated in the City and County of Denton, State of Texas, being
a par~ of the M E P and P R R Company Survey, Abstract No 927
and being a part of a tract of land conveyed by Golden Triangle
Properties, Inc to Bob A Lohrke and wife, Margaret Lohrke by
Deed dated October 8, 1963 and recorded in Volume 500, Page 285
of the Deed Records of Denton County, Texas, and being more
partlaularly described as follows
BEGINNING at a poant an the north right of way lane of Spencer
Road, saad poant of beganning lying 590 0 feet west of the east
boundary lane of said M E P and P R R Company Survey,
THENCE north 89°44' west along the north raght of way line of
Spencer Road, a dastance of 650 0 feet to a point for a corner,
THENCE north 2°52' east a dastance of 1072 44' to a point for a
corner,
THENCE north $9~44' west a dastance of 169 16 east to a poant for
a corner an the present Caty Llmats Lane,
THENCE northerly with the present City Limits llne, a distance of
1000 0 feet to a poant for a corner an the north boundary line
of said Lohrke Tract, same beang 600 0 feet east of the east right
of way lane of State Highway Loop 288,
THENCE south 89°44' east wmth the north boundary line of said
Lohrke Tract, a dastance of 786 6 feet to a point for a corner,
THENCE south 2°52' west, w~th the east boundary l~ne of said
Lohrke Traot, a d~stance of 2070 1 feet to the place of beginning
and contaan~ng 34 060 aores of land, more or less
SECTION II
The above described property Ks hereby classified as "A"
Agricultural D~strlct Property and shall so appear on the official
zoning map of the City of Denton, which map is hereby amended
SECTION II
Thzs ordlnanoe shall be effective immediately upon its passage
