AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT
TO THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR
PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF 16 686 ACRES LYING AND BEING SIT-
UATED IN THE COUNTY OF DENTON, STATE OF TEXAS AND BEING IN THE
M E P AND P R R COMPANY SURVEY WEST OF STATE SCHOOL ROAD,
DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS, CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS "SF-7" SINGLE
FAMILY DISTRICT PROPERTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the request for annexation was introduced at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Denton,
Texas, on the petition of T L Caruthers, and
WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a public hearing
held for that purpose on September 22, 1970, for all interested
persons to state their views and present evidence bearing upon
the annexation provided by this ordinance~ and
WHEREAS, this ordinance has been published in full at least
one time in the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas,
prior to its effective date, and after the public hearing,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the hereinafter described tract of land be, and the
same is hereby annexed to the City of Denton, Texas, and the
same is made hereby a part of said City and the land and any
present and future inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all
the rights and privileges of other citmzens of said City and
shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said City now in
effect or which may hereafter be enacted and the property sit-
uated therein shall be subject to and shall bear its pro-rata
part of the taxes levied by the City The tract of land hereby
annexed is described as follows, to-wit
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being
situated in the City and County of Denton, State of Texas, being
a part of the M E P and P R R Company Survey, Abstract No 950
and being a part of a tract of land conveyed by Alfred F Sellmeyer
to T L Caruthers by deed dated June 21, 1968 and recorded in Vol-
ume 567, Page 549 of the Deed Records of Denton County, Texas, and
being more particularly described as follows
BEGINNING at a point in the west right of way line of State
School Road, said point lying at the intersection of the
present City Limits of the City of Denton, Texas, and the
west right of way line of State School Road,
THENCE south 3° 03' west a distance of 97 40 feet to a point
for a corner,
THENCE south 89° 53' west a distance of 1,311 30 feet to a
point for a corner,
THENCE north 2° 49' east a distance of 781 40 feet to a point
for a corner,
THENCE south 87° 47' east a distance of 496 21 feet to a point
for a corner,
THENCE south 49° 57' east a distance of 1,019 95 feet to the
place of beginning and containing 16 686 acres of land, more
or less
SECTION II
The above described property is hereby classified as "SF-7"
Single Family District Property and shall appear on the official
zoning map of the City of Denton, which map shall be amended by
separate ordinance dated even herewith
fECTION III
This ordinance shall be effective ±mmed~atel¥ upon its
passage
