1969-034AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1969, AND ENDING
ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1970, LEVYING TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1969 TO BE
ASSESSED ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY
OF DENTON, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing on the budget for the
City of Denton, Texas, for the fiscal year 1969-1970 was here-
tofore published at least 15 days in advance of said hearing,
and
WHEREAS, ~public hearing on the said budget was duly held
and all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard
for or against any item thereof, now therefore,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the budget for the City of Denton, Texas, for the fiscal
year beginning on October 1, 1969, and ending on September 30,
1970, in words and figures as shown therein is finally approved
and adopted
SECTION II
That there shall be, and there is hereby levied, the follow-
ing taxes on each one hundred dollar ($t00 00) valuation on all
taxable property within the City of Denton, Texas, to be assessed
and collected by the Tax Assessor and Collector for the year
1969 and said taxes are to be assessed and collected for the
purposes hereinafter stipulated as follows, to wit
(a) For the General Fund allocation on the
$100 00 valuation $ 6501
(b) For the Interest and Redemption Funds
on outstanding bonded indebtedness on
the $100 00 valuation 8499
Total Allocation of Levy $1 50
SECTION III
That the City Manager shall cause copies of the budget to be
filed with the City Secretary, the County Clerk of Denton County
and the State Comptroller of Public Accounts
SECTION IV
This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its
passage

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, has heretofore
by Ordinance No. 69-30 duly enacted on August 12, 1969, determined the
necessity for and ordered the improvement of Wilson and Alexander Streets, in
the City of Denton, Texas, in the manner and according to the plans and
specifications therefore, which plans and specifications have heretofore been
approved and adopted by said City Council; and
WHEREAS, a notice duly executed in the name of the City of Denton,
Texas, of the enactment of the said above described ordinance has heretofore
on the 21st day of August, 1969, been filed in the Deed Records of Denton
County, Texas, in Volume 589, Page 587; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, by Ordinance
--No<,69-33,_duly enacted_on_the_9.th day_of_September,_1969.,_declared_the_lia
bility of the adjacent property owners for a portion of the cost of improving
the said portion of Wilson and Alexander Streets, and declared the same to be
a lien upon the said abutting properties; and
WHEREAS, in the aforesaid instruments, Lot 9.1, Block 269 in the name
of Pauline Varner Smith was shown to be specially assessed in the amount of
One Thousand Two Hundred Seventeen Dollars and Seventy-two Cents ($1,217.72)
for-both Wilson and Alexander Streets; and
WHEREAS, the property owner's share of the cost of improving Lot 9.1,
Block 269 abutting upon Wilson and Alexander Streets in the City of Denton,
Texas, is One Thousand Two Hundred Seventeen Dollars and Seventy-two Cents
($1,217.72); NOW, THEREFORE,
The City of Denton, Texas, does hereby forever release and discharge
the said Pauline Varner Smith, his heirs and assigns, and Lot 9.1, Block 269
as shown on the City Map of the said City of Denton, Texas, from any and all
special assessment liens and claims arising by virtue of the improvements to
Wilson and Alexander Streets in the City of Denton, Texas, described in the
aforesaid ordinances by the City Council of said City,. and in the aforesaid
notice recorded in Volume 589, Page 587 of the Deed Records of Denton County,
Texas.

WHEREAS, the City•Council of the City of Denton, Texas, has here-
tofore by Ordinance No. 69-33 duly •enacted on September 9, 1969,
determined the necessity for and ordered the improvement of East Mill
Road, in the City of Denton, Texas, in the manner and according to the
plans and specifications therefore, which plans and specifications have
heretofore been approved and adopted by said City Council; and
WHEREAS, a notice duly executed in the name of the City of Denton,
Texas, of the enactment of the said above described ordinance has here-
tofore on the 13th day of August, 1969, been filed in the Deed Records of
Denton County, Texas, in Volume 589, Page 587; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, by Ordinance
Nom _6933, duly enacted on the 9th day of September 1969 declared the
liability of the adjacent property o`-Wners Tor a'po`rtion of-che cost`of'
improving the said portion of East Mill Road, and declared the same to be
a lien upon the said abutting properties; and
WHEREAS, in the aforesaid instruments, Lot 7, Block 241 in the name
of Jimmy Daniels was shown to be specially assessed in the amount of One
Hundred Eighty-nine Dollars and Twelve Cents ($189.12); and
WHEREAS, the property owner's share of the cost of improving Lot 7,
Block 241 abutting upon East Mill Street in the City of Denton, Texas, is
One Hundred Eighty-nine Dollars and Twelve Cents
THEREFORE, ($189.12); NOW,
In consideration of the payment by the said Carl Gene Young, Sr.,
present property owner, to the City of Denton, Texas, of Five Hundred
Sixty-nine Dollars and Sixty-four Cents ($569.64) receipt of which is
hereby acknowledged, the said City of Denton, Texas, does hereby forever
release and discharge the said Jimmy Daniels and Carl Gene Young, Sr.,
their heirs and assigns, and Lot 7, Block 241 as shown on the City Map of
the said City of Denton, Texas, from any and all special assessment liens
and claims arising by virtue of the improvements to East Mill Street in
the City of Denton, Texas, described in the aforesaid ordinances by the
City Council of said City_,_and in the aforesaid notice recorded in_ Volume_
