1967-050 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF DENTON~ TEXAS~ ADDING AN EXCEPTION
TO THE RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS OF CITY OFFICERS AND
EMPLOYEES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON~ TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
Tha~ Section 2-3~ ~=rst paragraph~ of Chapter 2~ Article
ID of the Code of the City of Denton~ Texas~ is hereby amend-
ed by deleting said first paragraph of Section 2-3 and adding
a new, first paragraph which shall hereafter read as follows
Residence All officers and employees of the City
shall reside within the corporate llmlts of the C~ty~
unless written permission to the contrary is granted
by the City Manager
,SECTION II
That if any sectlon~ subsectlon~ paragraph~ sentence~
clausle~ phrase or word in this ordlnance~ or application
thergof to any person or clrcumstance~ ~s held invalid by
any court of competent ]urlsdlctlon~ such holding shall not
affect the validity of the rema~nlng port~ons of this ord-
~nanqe~ and the C~ty Council of the C~ty of Denton~ Texas~
hereby declares it would have enacted such rem~lnlng portions
desplte any such ~nval~dity
,SECTION III
~That this ordinance only repeals the first paragraph of
Section 2-3 captioned Re~ldence~ and the other two paragraphs
of Section 2-3 shall re~a~n in full force and effect
~SECTION IV
IThat this ordlnance shall become and be effectlve
lmmedxately upon 1ts passage and approval
