1967-040AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS IN THE ELECTION HELD
SATURDAY OCTOBER 14, 1967~ TO DECIDE A PROPOSITION REGARDING
THE CLOSING OF A PORTION OF OAKLAND AVENUE, AND A PROPOSITION
REGARDING THE CLOSING OF A PORTION OF AUSTIN AVENUE.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON~ TEXAS~ HEREBY ORDAINS
1. That the Cmty Councml offmcmally fmnds and determmnes
that an electmon was duly ordered to be held mn the Cmty of
Denton on the 14th day of October, 1967, for the purpose of
decmdzng whether or not to close and prevent the reconstructaon
of a portion of Oakland Avenue situated between McKmnney Avenue
and Congress, and decmdang whether or not to close a portmon of
Austmn Avenue smtuated between McKanney Avenue and Parkway,
that proper notice of said election was duly given, that proper
electlon offmcers were duly appoanted praor to samd electmon,
that samd electmon was duly held, that due returns of the re-
sult of said electmon has been made and delmvered, and that
the CXty Council has duly canvassed samd returns, all an
accordance with law
2 That the Cmty Councml offmcmally fands and determanes
that only reszdent~ qualxfled electors of samd Cmty were allow-
ed to vote at said electmon, and the followang votes were cast
at saad electxon, for each proposmtmon, there beang no other
propos~taons recemvang any votes at thms election

An ordanance prohmbmting the opening or con-
structmon of any streets or roads other than
service roads znto or across the portmon of
the City Cmvmc Center area between Austin
Avenue and Bell Avenue, not mncludang any
portaon of Austin Avenue, and expressly pro-
hxbxtxng the extensmon or reconstructmon of
Oakland Avenue through thms Cmvmc Center area.
