1967-010 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF DENTON,
TEXAS, BY INCLUDING OVERNIGHT CARE FOR HOUSEHOLD PETS
IN VETERINARIAN CLINICS LOCATED WITHIN THE "LB" -
LOCAL BUSINESS ZONING DISTRICT, INCLUDING DAY CARE
VETERINARIAN CLINICS WITHIN THE "LR" - LOCAL RETAIL
ZONING DISTRICT, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, REPEAL-
ING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES, PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR
VIOLATIONS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I.
That Ordinance No 61-19, as amended, ls hereby amended
and supplanted by adding new Article 13 17 (a) (12) and sub-
stltutxng new Article 13 18 (a) (6) tD saxd ordinance (same
being Appendix B to the Code of Ordmnances) whmch shall here-
after read as follows
Artmcle 13 17 "LR" - Local Retail D~strlct
(a) Uses permmtted
(12) Veterinary clinics provmded animals
are not kept over n~ght
Article 13 18 "LB" - Local Buszness Dlstr~ct
(a) Uses permitted
(6) Hotels, medmcal and dental cllnmcs,
veterinary clinics for treatment
and hospxtalmzat~on of household
pets only, wxthxn a completely en-
closed structure, with no outside
runs or kennels
SECTION II
The penalty provlszon of Article 13 34 of ordinance no
61-19, as amended, shall apply hereto as if set out in full
herein
SECTION III
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word in this ordmnance, or applmcatzon there-
of to any person or c~rcumstances xs held lnvalmd by any court
of competent jurisdiction, such holdmng shall not affect the
validity of the remamnlng portions of th~s ordxnance, and the
Cmty Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it
would have enacted such remamnlng portmons despite any such
~nvalxdxty

SECTION IV,
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in force when
the prQvlszons of this ordinance become effectzve which are
inconsistent or ~n conflzct with the terms or provisions con-
tanned in thzs ordznance are hereby repealed to the extent
of any such conflzct
SECTION V~
That th~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days f~om the date of its passage, and the City Secretary ls
hereby dzrected to cause the caption of th~s ordinance to be
published twmce ~n the Denton Record-Chronicle wzthzn ten (10)
days of the date of its passage
