1966-038 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXASt PROVIDING A REWARD OF
ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO
CONVICTION OF PERSONS DAMAGING, DESTROYING OR
STEALING CITY PROPERTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I.
That the Code of Ordxnances of the City of Denton, Texas,
is hereby amended by adding new section 14-10 in Chapter Four-
teen of said Code of Ordinances which shall hereafter read as
follows
SECTION 14-10 MALICIOUS MISCHIEF, VANDALISM, THEFT
The City will pay a reward of One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) cash to any person furnishing and pro-
riding the City with information leading to the
arrest and conviction of any person for the offense
or offenses of Theft, Malicious Mischief or Vanda-
lism whlch directly involves the loss, destruction,
desecration or damage of property owned by the City
SECTION II,.
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen {~4)
days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary
hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be
published twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle within ten (10)
days of the date of 1ts passage.

IMPROVEMENTS, AWARDING CONTRACTS PURSUANT THERE-
TO, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF ONE HUNDRED
TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND ($125,000) DOLLARS OF CITY
OF DENTON AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT WARRANTS, SERIES
1966, LEVYING A TAX TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL AND IN-
TEREST THEREOF, PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD OF THE
EXECUTION, ISSUANCE AND DELIVERY THEREOF, AND
ORDAINING OTHER MATTERS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT
WHEREAS, heretofore, the City Counczl of the C~ty
of Denton, Texas, determzned the necessity for the constructzon
of Airport Improvements and dzrected the C~ty Secretary to pub-
lish notice to bidders for such work, which notice has been
published in a newspaper of general czrculat~on within the City,
and is in words and figures as follows

Sealed proposals addressed to the City of Denton,
Denton County, Texas, will be recezved at the Office of the
City Secretary, City Hall, Denton, Texas, until 10 00 A M.,
G.SoT., October 13, 1966, for constructing zmprovements at
the City's Municipal Airport as follows

Bidders are expected to inspect the szte of the work and to in-
form themselves regarding local condztions and conditions under
which the work is to be done
Not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages for work of
similar character in the Czty of Denton, and County of Denton,
and not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages
for legal holzdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and overtime work shall
be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed in
connection with the foregoing Contracts

Instructions to Bidders, Proposal Forms, Specifications, Plans
and Contract Documents may be examined at the office of the City
Secretary, City Hall, Denton, Texas, and copies of said instru-
ments may be obtained from said City Secretary, upon deposit of
$5 00 as a guarantee of the safe return of the plans and speci-
fications
Said deposit will be returned provided
(1) The Bidder returns the plans and speclflcatzons
within 72 hours after the bid date, OR
(2) The Non-Bidder returns the plans and spec~flcations
in good condition 72 houll~ prior to bid date,
Otherwise the entire $5 00 deposit will be forfeited and no
refund made
Suppliers may obtain Speciflcatzons and Plans at the address
stated above upon deposit of F~ve ($5 00) Dollars, which sum
ls non-refundable
It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Denton
to issue the time warrants of the City of Denton for payment of
a part or all of the Contracts to be made pursuant to this
Notice, and to pay part or all of the Engzneer's fees zn
connection therewzth The maxzmum amount of time warrant
zndebtedness to be incurred for said purposes shall be $125,000,
the maximum rate of interest such tzme warrants are to bear is
4½% per annum, and the maxzmum maturzty date thereof shall be
1986 The City has obtained a commitment from a bank for the
purchase of sazd time warrants from the Contractor, so that sa~d
warrants shall be delivered to the Contractor and the Contractor
wzll immediately deliver sazd warrants to such bank and receive
zn cash the par value therefor

visions of Chapter 163, Acts of the Regular Session of the
Forty Second Legislature, known as the "Bond and Warrant Law
of 1931", and

bid filed for Contract A,and that the bzd filed by House and

Contract A, and the bid of House and Hanna Iron Works, for
Contract B, be and the same are hereby accepted by the Czty

2 That contracts be executed between this Czty and
A & S Steel Buildings, Inc , and House and Hanna Iron Works,

hereinafter mentioned to be made and performed by Owner, and under
the conditions expressed in the bond bearing even date herewith,
the Contractor hereby agrees with Owner to commence and complete
the construction of certain improvements described as follows
and all extra work in connection therewith, under the terms as
stated in the Invitation for Bids, Proposal, and Information and
Special Instructions to Bidders, and General Conditions of Agree-
ment attached hereto and hereby made a part of this contract by
reference the same as if set forth at length herein, and at Con-
tractor's own proper cost and expense to furnish all materials,
supplies, machinery, equipment, tools, superv~slon, labor, ~nsur-
ance and other accessories and services necessary to complete the
said construction ~n accordance with the condItions and prices
stated ~n the proposal attached hereto, and in accordance w~th
the conditions and prices stated ~n the proposal, and ~n accordance
with all the General Cond~tlons of Agreement, and ~n accordance
w~th the plans, which include all maps, plats, blueprints and other

upon presentation and surrender of warrant or proper coupon at
