1966-026 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, 1961, AS SAME WAS ADOPTED AS A PART OF PARTS II AND III OF CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BY ORDINANCE NO 61-19, AND AS SUCH MAP APPLIES TO CERTAIN PROPERTY ABUTTING THE ACME BRICK COMPANY PLANT MORE PARTICU- LARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I, That the Zoning Map of the City of Denton, Texas, 1961, adopted as a part of Parts II and III of Chapter 13 of the Code of Ordinances of Denton Texas, under the provisions of Ordinance No 61-19 be, and the same is hereby amended as follows All of the hereinafter described property ~s hereby removed from the "R" - Dwelling District as shown on said map, and all provisions of Parts II and III of Cahpter 13 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton Texas, as l~rovlded by Ordinance No 61-19, shall hereafter apply to said property as "LI" - Light Industmal District in the same manner as other property located in the "LI" - Light Industrial District FIRST TRACT BEGINNING at the most easterly northeast corner of the property presently owned by the Acme Brick Company in the City of Denton, Texas, Thence east 800 feet, Thence south 1500 feet, Thence west 800 feet to the most easterly southeast corner of the said Acme Brick Company property, Thence north 1500 feet to the place of beginning SECOND TRACT BEGINNING at the most westerly southeast corner of the Acme Brick Company property in the City of Denton, Texas, Thence east 600 feet Thence north 1100 feet, Thence west 600 feet to the inter southwest corner of the saldAcme Brick Company property, Thence south along the most westerly east boundary hne of the Acme Brick Company property, to the place of beginning This second tract is contiguous to and adjoins the above first tract SECTION II, That the City Council, City of Denton, Texas, hereby f~nds that such change is ~n accordance with a comprehensive plan for the purpose of promoting the general welfare of the C~ty of Denton Texas, and w~th reasonable consIderation among other things for the character of the district and for its pecuhar suitabflCty or particular uses, and with a view to conserving the value of the bmldlngs protecting human hves, and encouraging the most appropriate uses of land for the maximum benefit to the City of Denton and its c~tCzens SECTION III That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after its passage and approval, the required pubhc heanngs having heretofore been held by the Planning and Zomng Commission and the C*ty Council of the C~ty of Denton, after giving due notice thereof PASSED AND APPROVED th~s ~ ~._~ day of August, A D 1966 Vffarren Whitson, Jr Mayor City of Denton, Texas ATTEST/? ~ . / Bra~oks Holt, City Secretary C~ty of Del~ton, Texas APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM y Q Barton, City Attorney of Denton, Texas
