1966-024 AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS OP ELECTION HELD
JULY 16 1966, TO DETERMINE THE QUESTION OF WHETHER THE CITY
COUNCIL SHALL ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO INITIATE URBAN RENEWAL
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
1 That the City Council officially finds and determines that an election
was duly ordered to be held in the City of Denton on the 16th day of July 1966 for the
purpose of determining the question of whether the City Council shall adopt a resolution
to initiate Urban Renewal that proper notice of said election was duly given that
proper election officers were duly appointed prior to said election that said election
was duly held, that due returns of the result of said election have been made and
dehvered and that the City Council has duly canvassed said returns all in accordance
with law
2 That the City Council officially finds and determines that only resident,
qualified electors of said City owning taxable property therein were allowed to vote at
said election, and the following votes were cast at sa~d election for each proposition
being voted on
1) FOR the adoption of the resolution to initiate Urban Renewal

2) AGAINST the adoption of the resolution to initiate Urban Renewal

3 That the City Council officially finds determines and declares the results
of said election to be that the proposition Against the adoption of the sa~d Resolution
received the ma3onty of the votes cast
PASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of August A D 1966, and therefore the
Resolution shall not be passed, all in accordance with law
