1966-021 'AN ORDINANCE AMENDING T~E ZONING MAP OF THE CITY
OF DENTON, TEXAS, 1961, AS SAME WAS ADOPTED AS A
PART OF PARTS II AND III OF CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE
OR ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BY
ORDINANCE NO 61-19, AND AS SAID MAP APPLIES TO
CERTAIN PROPERTY KNOWN AS CITY LOTS 17, 18 AND 19
OF CITY BLOCK 386, AS SHOWN ON THE OFFICIAL CITY
MAP OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTI-
CULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, AND DECLARING AN EFFEC-
TIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the Zoning Map of the City of Denton, Texas, 1961,
adopted as a Raft of Parts II and III of Chapter 13, of the
Code of Ordinances of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, under the
provlslons of Ordlnance No 61-19, be, and the same ~s hereby
amended as follows
All of the hereinafter described property Ks hereby re-
moved from the"A-2"- Apartment D~str~ct as shown on sa~d
map, and all prov~slons of Parts II and III of Chapter
13 of the Code of Ordinances of the C~ty of Denton,
Texas, as provided by Ordinance No 61-19, shall here-
after apply to sald property as "LR" - Local Retail ~n
the same manner as other property located ~n the "LR"-
Local Retail D~str~ct
All that certain property sltuated ~n the C~ty and County
of Denton, Texas, being City Lots 17, 18 and 19, City
Block 386, (located on the North s~de of West Hlckory,
begannlng 105 feet west of Avenue B)
SECTION II.
That the Clty Council of the Clty of Denton, Texas, here-
by f~nds that such change as ~n accordance with a comprehensive
plan for the purpose of promotang the general welfare of the
City of Denton, Texas, and w~th reasonable consideration, among
other th~ngs, for the character of the d~str~ct and for ~ts
peculiar suitability or particular uses, and w~th a view to con-
serving the value of the buildings, protecting human lives, and
encouraglng th emost appropriate uses of land for the maximum
benefit to the C~ty of Denton and ~ts c~tazens
SECTION III
That th~s ordlnance shall be an full force and effect
~mmedlately after ~ts passage and approval, the required public
hearings having heretofore been held by the Planning and Zoning
Commlssloneand the City Council of the C~ty of Denton, after
giving due notice thereof
