AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TRACTS OF LAND
iCONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF DENTON,
iTEXAS, SITUATED IN DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS, SAID
LAND BEING FULLY DESCRIBED IN E~IBIT A INCOR-
PORATED HEREIN, CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS DWELLING
DISTRICT PROPERTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the ordinance was ~nltlally introduced at a
public meeting of the City Council of the City of Denton,
Texas, on the 12th day of April, A D 1966, upon the
Councils own motion, and
WHEREAS, this ordinance has been published an full one
time in the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas,
at least 30 days prior to the effective date, and
WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a public hear-
lng for that purpose on the 26th day of April, A D 1966,
for all interested persons to state their views and present
evidence bearing upon the annexation provided by this
ordinance, Now, Therefore,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS

That the property described in Exhibit A, attached here-
to and incorporated into ~hls ordinance as though set out in
full herein, be made hereby a part of said City and the land
and any present and future inhabitants thereof shall be en-
titled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of
said City and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of
said City now in effect or which may hereafter be enacted and
the ~property situated therein shall be sub3ect to and shall
bear its pro-rata part of the taxes levied by the City of
Denton

The property described in sa~d Exhibit A ~s hereby
classified as "R" - Dwelling Dlstrlct property
Section III
Th~s ordinance shall be effective on and after the

1966 ANNEXATION DESCRIPTION
Beginning at a point in the present Czty Limits line, said
poin~ being the intersection of the West right-of-way of the Santa
Fe ~ilroad and the South line of the E Puchalski Survey, Abstract
996,1said point of intersection being 75 feet Southwest of and per-
pendicular from the center line Station 393 + 43 1 of the Gulf~
Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad,
Thence West, with the South line of said E Puchalski Survey
to the Southwest corner of said Survey, a point for a corner,
Thence North with the West line of said E Puchalski Survey
to the Northwest corner of said Survey, a point for a corner,
Thence East with the North line of said E Puchalski to it's
intersection point with the West right-of-way of the Santa Fe Rail-
road, said right-of-way line being the present City Limits line,
and said point of intersection being 50 feet Southwest of and per-
pendicular from the center line Station 321 + 84 5 of the Gulf,
Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad, a point for a corner,
Thence Southeasterly with the West right-of-way line of the
Santa Fe Railroad and the present City Limits line to an existing
corner point in the North line of West Prairie Street and in the
North line of a tract of land out of said E Puchalski Survey, as
conveyed to the City of Denton, Texas, by W C Potter and wife and
recorded in Volume 383, page 186 of the Deed Records of Denton
CounTy, Texas,
Thence West with the North line of West Prairie Street and
the present City Limits line, to the Northwest corner of said City
of Denton tract,
Thence South with the West llne of said City of Denton et
al, tract and the present City Limits line, 454 feet to the South-
west corner of said tract,
Thence East with the South lire of said City of Denton et
al, itract, and the present City Limits line, to a point for a corner
in the Southeast corner of said tract, said corner point being in
the West right-of-way line of the Santa Fe Railroad and the present
Cit~ Limits line,
Thence Southeasterly with the West right-of-way line of the
Santa Fe Railroad and the present City Limits line, to the place of
beginning and containing in all 251 132 acres or 0 392 square miles,
