City of Denton Hosts Fire Training Facility Grand Opening
DENTON, TX, Jan. 25, 2019—The City of Denton is pleased to announce the completion of
the Denton Fire Department Training Facility. The facility offers hands-on training designed to
be realistic, effective, and safe for firefighters of all experience levels.
With a six-story drill tower, outdoor classrooms, and more, training opportunities include live
fires and search-and-rescue missions. The facility also features a prop airplane, a 62-foot elevator
shaft, and a wide variety of other training simulations.
"With so many ways to prepare firefighters, the Fire Training Facility will allow us to better
serve the community. This facility will not only meet the needs of our firefighters, but also of
fire departments across North Texas that want to train in Denton," said Chief Kenneth Hedges.
All residents and community members are invited to join us at the grand opening ceremony for
the Fire Training Facility at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. The facility is located at 4201 Vintage
Blvd., directly behind Fire Station 7.
