Notice of Public Meeting for Input on Proposed Neighborhood Park
Carnegie Ridge Amenity Center, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.
DENTON, TX, Feb. 14, 2019—The City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department is hosting
a neighborhood public meeting for input regarding a proposed neighborhood park on the corner
of Carnegie Ridge Road and Ridglea Court in the Carnegie Ridge Subdivision.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. in the community room at the Carnegie
Ridge Amenity Center, 6421 Meandering Creek Dr.
Developer Country Lakes West, LLC dedicated approximately 1.4 acres to the City of Denton
for public park use in accordance with the provisions of the Park Dedication and Development
Ordinance. The purpose of the meeting is to present the concept plan for the proposed park
that was recently approved by the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board with a
recommendation for City Council's consideration.
The proposed park, currently referred to as "Patrick Park" includes a playground and pavilion
and demonstrates the department's broad-based support for the 10-Minute Walk Campaign
that improves equitable access to quality parks on safe routes within a 10-minute walk of new
community developments. Funding for the proposed park could be supported by developer
improvements and Park Development Fees established to provide supplemental sustainable
funding dedicated to park improvements.
A staff representative from the Parks and Recreation Department will be on site to present
the plan and receive input. Residents unable to attend are welcome to submit input via email
to Gary.Packan@cityofdenton.com or call (940) 349-7460.
