Notice of Public Meeting for Input on Proposed Parks
Proposed Park at Rayzor Ranch, 6 p.m. and McKenna Park, 7 p.m.

DENTON,TX,March 5,2019—The City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department is hosting
a joint public meeting for input regarding a proposed 9.86-acre park at Rayzor Ranch and potential
improvement options for McKenna Park.
Both meetings will be held on Monday, March 18 at Highland Baptist Church, 600 Thomas St.
The meeting for the proposed park at Rayzor Ranch will begin at 6 p.m. and the McKenna Park
public input meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
Rayzor Ranch East developers propose to dedicate approximately 9.86 acres to the City of Denton
for public park use in accordance with the provisions of the Park Dedication and Development
Ordinance. The purpose of the meeting is to present the concept plan for the proposed park that
was recently approved by the Parks,Recreation, and Beautification Board with a recommendation
for City Council's consideration. Proposed features include open green space, a loop trail,
historical elements, decorative landscape, and the ability to host special events. Potential
improvement options for McKenna Park include a new parking lot, new playground, and a new
loop trail with neighborhood connectivity and additional trees.
The Rayzor Ranch East developer and a staff representative from the Parks and Recreation
Department will be on site to present the plans and receive input. Residents unable to attend are
